Hi, supporters and followers, most of you probably already learned about the recent news of the updated Terms of Service content policies for all the service sites on Pixiv, including Fanbox. You can view a translated version here: https://www.pixiv.net/info.php?id=8789 From what it is stated there, it seems like almost every kind of NSFW content that is not Vanilla will be affected by this. I looked into different opinions from Japanese and non-Japanese users on every platform about that matter. Some of them tried to set this new defined guidelines into perspective by saying, that it was just a countermeasure on Pixiv's side considering that a lot of recent uploads on this site also included some very questionable RL content (partly combined with the AI generated stuff) which led to which put Pixiv in a predicament, and the guidelines were a consequence of this. So since every bit of information about this is worded pretty vaguely, and some are arguing that those policies only counts for any RL content. This might be a slight possibility that this is actually the case and with this safety net of guidelines they can take any countermeasures against such content from that point on. Nevertheless, I remain very skeptical, since I heard about and also know many other art-related sites that went for a stricter moderation and censorship right at the point when the same exact guidelines were introduced there in the past. At that point, only time will tell (the 15th of December, to be exact) until we know for sure how they will handle that content. To be frank, it sounds way too surreal that Pixiv of all places would nuke their core audience and content like that easily without clarifications of any misunderstanding or potential concerns. But I also know enough situations where JP companies rather remain reserved when it comes to further commentary about drastic changes. At that point, I'm just too tired and exhausted to succumb to my frustrations and tiring uncertainty after one downer is occurring after the other just within such a short amount of time. I felt like I was on the verge to establish a great community and fanbase, since November was my strongest month on Fanbox so far. And as always, just when I was about to find my path, something new got in my way and destroyed my foothold. Despite all this, I don't see much choice to continue and wait for now. I will keep working on my stuff as scheduled and intended, but I'm also not so naive to not look for any alternatives and counter- measures. I will let you know as soon as I have integrated my content on another service site that I can manage in parallel to this site. As always, feel always free to share your thoughts on that matter. Whatever may be, I want to let you know how heart-warming your support and encouraging words over the last weeks and days were. Without you, it wouldn't have been as nearly as easy to recover from all the mental strikes lately. Thank you so much! Love you guys! Sincerely, Octoppoi (PS: Oh my god, I sat almost 2 hours on that crappy text due to my bad non-native Engllish and it got almost deleted. Thank god auto-save exists on this site! So yeah, sorry for my stiff English! My thoughts are all over the place.)
