A Little Update!

I have launched a substack (free for now), it's a blog dedicated to the step-parent/child relationship called Mother Inferior, exploring the social, familial and political environment of these relationships. The first post is up.
The first post is about the specific type of intimacy that comes from recalling and sharing forgotten moments of childhood with a child you did not birth and it is written in narrative essay style. Though the synopsis doesn't really encompass the breadth of the writing. I cannot insist enough that you should read it to get a sense of whether it's your type of writing.
I have been wanting a space to write about the parent-child relationship in all of its nuance, reality and complexity, so please know that this is not a parenting blog, nor an advice column, if you are familiar with how I write relationships, it's exactly like that. I don't intend to publicize it here very much so if you want to keep up with it, subscribing to the substack (free) would be the best option. I welcome any feedback about the writing though since I'm still trying to get the hang of using substack etc.
