Hi everyone, it's Friday again! This week I have an update on Cortiça, a resource management game by Manuel Correia. Let's check it out.

A few weeks ago I shared the sketches for some images of an unannounced game. Now we have some color, and a title! The game is called Cortiça. I actually shared these same images but at the time they were just sketches. Now the artist has some complete illustrations that will end up on the game's cards. Here we have an illustration of a cork harvester taking a quick break in the shade. You'll notice that the cork has already been harvested off this tree. We really like this style of the illustration, especially the bold white outlines and the almost sketch like quality of the background. And we especially like the cork texture!

This illustration here represents the Grow card. It is important to harvest the bark at the right moment in a tree's life. There is a lot research into the actual process of harvesting cork required to get this game right. Everything from the tree, to the landscape to even the outfits of the farmers are as close to the real thing as possible.
I hope you're excited to see Cortiça grow into a full wallet game, I know we're excited! See you next week.
