Friday Art Preview - 5/6/22

Hey friends, we're back with another Friday Art Preview. It's been a super busy week here at Button Shy as we are working on a bunch of different projects at once. We received some really cool works in progress. So let's just jump right into the art!

Here is one of the 18 ingredient's for our upcoming roleplaying game: The Family Dinner. For this game we wanted the art to have that "old cookbook" feel to it. It was really important that the art felt like it came from something passed down through the family. After doing some research we found that a lot of older cookbooks had watercolor illustrations for the ingredients. With that in mind we found a skilled watercolor artist to handle the task. Just wait until you see all 18, they look really nice!

Next up is a sketch of the cover for Fishing Lessons. Fishing Lessons is about a family fishing trip and the lessons taught to them by the late Leland. Leland and his family love fishing and before he passed he taught them all the skills he knew. We wanted the cover to have a feeling of a close family sharing something they loved. We are really happy with the design and can not wait to see the full illustration!

But wait, what would a fishing game be without fish? The same artist that is working on the  cover illustration made this fish sketch. There will be a handful of fish cards in the game. This catfish will become a full colored painting soon. I know it's just a sketch at the moment, but it's really cool to see where an illustration starts and how it ends. So when this is fully painted I'll share it with you!

And to finish up for the day, here's a sneak peak at something Naturopolis! Jason snapped this picture while Marty was putting the cards together. I'll have a full card image for you soon!

Hope you enjoyed the art I shared. See you next week!
