Time for some news

What a week it's been here at Button Shy! Jason and I try to spend a little bit of time each week on improving the office. There's been a lot of moving around bins of games, tables and clutter. If you've been following the news you've already seen that. But now that Summer is here we want to get our retail space operating. I touched on this last week, but we set a few things in motion this week.
We had a plan for something that would really make the store feel right, but that required some digging around at the storage unit. Jason's daughter even pitched in to help out! I just watched as Jason dug around the comically overfilled storage unit in search for a single bin buried under boxes. We were looking for something very specific for the store and found it buried under uncut decks of Storyteller Cards. There they were, Sprawopolis Misprint Cards! That's right, we needed some of the 28,000 misprint cards to make something fun...
We are going to fill an entire wall with Sprawlopolis cards. It will become the WALLOPOLIS! Jason threw a couple on there as a test but it is going to work as planned. Once the wall is entirely covered the plan is to let visitors stack new cards. Our estimate is that about 1600 Sprawlopolis cards are needed for the wall. Don't worry, we aren't wasting cards. These were misprints and are unusable in game.
One of the fun additions to the store will be an art wall. We are going to put original art from our artists on the wall as well as other fun stuff. We hung up two awesome pieces by Sara Beauvais. These are original hand drawn pieces for Liberation and Universal Rule. We really hope that when the space opens any of you who are in the area stop by!
One more thing...
Ok, ignore the dopey look on my face. What you're looking at (aside from a very tired George) is the work-in-progress backdrop for our future video series. Sometime soon we are going to do a test run for a video where I will make announcements, introduce new games, showcase art and much more! I'm really excited for this since it will be another fun way to reach out to you all and bring you more Button Shy content.

Nov/Dec are still coming. Most of it is here but some are still coming. Working our best here but it’s not an easy task since the months don’t stop. The best I can say is we are working on it. The worst I can say is these things take a lot of time.

The last message l had on 2 July said "Sorry to hear you've not received a shipping notification for this package yet. I'll reach out to George to find out more information and get back to you. It's 4th July weekend in the US and he may not be working this weekend, so it may be a week or so before I get a response." Not very helpful! Waht about the Nov/Dec packs they were due 6 months ago!

2021-07-04 15:52:35 +0000 UTCAs for retail, it’s a town requirement for our building zoning. We are required to be open one night a month, and I assume you won’t see more than that for a long time. We’ve put it off for a year due to Covid, but we’re starting to push the limit now in NJ.

2021-07-04 15:47:04 +0000 UTCI have been a member since November 2020. So far the only pack I have had was January/February. I did get an October 2020 as compenstation. I can't remember what my Nov/Dec games were. Come on Button Shy, sort you act out and get our packs sorted before opening to retail, when I suspect the Board Game of the Month will get pushed further back.
