The file folder is updated!

As promised, the file folder is updated!

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4i4xnkhw1kakdjj/AADgomR_xfZNYCPFjO7UxvBNa?dl=0

Here's a breakdown as to what is in there.

And our two most current wallet games:

A quick note on the Wallet Games:

Each will be available for one month, and the next will replace it. So if you want to download the Wallet Game PNPs, keep an eye on the folder and download them as soon as you see them. I will make sure to post when things are changing in the folder as well.

Also with the PNPs, please do not share these files. Feel free to share images of you playing, but please keep the links to yourself.

Rules questions and FAQs

Getting the games up was the first step. Next up for me is the how to play videos and FAQs. I saw all of the requests and I'm working on these next. I'm starting with Banned Books since it's my design, and getting comfortable in the video format will be even easier when it's a game I know inside and out. In the meantime, if you have any rules questions, please use this google form.

And finally a few questions for you

Would anyone here be interested in joining a Board Game of the Month Club Slack or at least a Slack channel within a greater Button Shy Slack? I ask because of the rules questions link above, as well as other community related items. We use Slack for internal Button Shy communication and I can see some uses here as well. I would imagine that we could quickly discuss rule questions (with the designers right there), but also arrange some playtests, or crowd source some ideas for future content, and just discuss games overall. It technically can all happen here, but it's so immediate and continuous there.

And second, has anyone used Tabletop Simulator? We're looking into ways to use it for Button Shy, and curious if any of you have played or tested games there.

If anyone has other new avenues to expand to, please let us know! Catching up with packages is first and foremost, but we need some new goals for after we nail the timeline. :)

Thanks everyone! Have a great weekend.

I also like Discord better

Tabletop Simulator you say?!?!?! I have been wanting to ask you every since I backed Universal Rule about doing mods. I love scripting and have minimal 3D modeling experiencing. Here is my portfolio <a href="https://steamcommunity.com/id/kensuaga/myworkshopfiles." rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://steamcommunity.com/id/kensuaga/myworkshopfiles.</a> I will send you a PM in Kickstarter.

No problem. It's not like I don't have other games to play. I was just curious. Thanks for the info.

I have solo Semifinal Fantasy from Mike Mullins, but I need to get some hands on to then do the final layout, etc. It's on my list of things to do, but one that requires some real time, so I just have a few priorities first.

Button Shy

You can try again now. I just fixed it on my end. Thanks for the heads up.

Agreed with Steve: "Current Wallet Games" seems to be empty. Also, for some strange reason, the rules for Timestamp Episode 3 aren't printing for me. I can open the PDF and see it just fine, but my printer spits out a blank sheet of paper. It didn't do this with the previous two that I downloaded and printed before. I had to print as image to get something out, which is weird. Any word on the possibility of solo rules for Semifinal Fantasy? On your questions for us: I know about Slack, but don't really use it, and is Tabletop Simulator the free web site or the PC/Steam game? The two are named similarly so I forget. I don't have the Steam game, but have tried the web site one a few times. I don't use it much though.

James M.

Awesome about the updated content - I've been waiting for the new Legends of Dsyx to show up so I can print a few more copies of it! But am I missing something? When I look at the "Current Wallet Games" folder, DropBox just tells me "The folder is empty".

I’ve used discord briefly but use slack all day long. Discord seemed very noisy in comparison. Mostly just unfamiliar but can anyone let me know what’s potentially better about it? I’d personally prefer slack because I have to be on there anyway, (so are all of our designers) and it’s just switching a tab instead of switching an app.

Button Shy

I actually thought about putting together a Button Shy Discord Group. It's be a good place to get game discussion for each game going

I use Slack for work and would be open for it!

Liz Lam

Either slack or discord would be fine with me. I use slack more for work, discord for gaming. Tabletop simulator is not something I’ve tried, but would be willing to for these games. New ideas: I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a weather themed game. I’d be willing to try to come up with ideas along those lines, with help. And volunteering for you at regional game shows? I don’t know how one organizes that, but it would give me an excuse to go and spread the word!

Todd Ellis

I'd be up for slack or discord for sure!

Jacob

I've never tried Slack. I do know that TONS of people use Discord for things like this. I've even discussed several button shy games in a "board game kickstarter" discord channel. As for new ideas: Convention attendance packages. When I represented Button Shy at a Las Vegas Convention I had a blast. I ended up keeping my shirt but did giveaways for a bunch of games. It would be cool to have a set packages for this. It would include things like: 1 or 2 shirts, 4-5 wallet games, 2-3 bgotm leftover packages, a handful of button shy buttons, and a promo code people could use on your website. In exchange for the stuff, they'd have to post 10 pictures on social media of people playing/winning the games, do some giveaways of button shy content, and pay $20 and the shipping of the package. That would certainly get you more exposure in places where buttonshy is less well-known and give dedicated fans a way to get some interesting and unique stuff for helping spread the word.

Matthew Mitchell

I've used Tabletop Simulator a few times, it's really useful. I like Discord over Slack but a Slack would be pretty cool.
