πŸ“’ Vote for the Next Romance Anime! πŸ’–πŸŽ¬

We had almost 50 suggested anime to take our romance slot! 😍
Our max votes on Patreon is 25, so I had to trim down the list. βœ‚οΈ
So I removed any anime over 30 episodes πŸ“Ί, those that didn’t fully fit a romance theme πŸ’”, and ones that I couldn’t easily find on existing streaming platforms available in the UK.

Here's out next vote list! Votes close Monday night so get your vote in!

Your Lie in April is a great show. I'm never gonna rewatch it for obvious reasons (you'll know if you've seen it). Horimiya had a strong start but didn't really do anything later on. Also its spinoff actually made me dislike Hori lol. But how a show like My dress up darling that's like 80% carried by the female lead's attractiveness can win over Dangers in my Heart and some other great romance shows (at least for now) leaves me baffled.

Darkwing Duck

Horimiya hands down - no slow burns involved for once, and it's so relatable and all the characters are likeable in their own ways <33

The key word would be Drama, having read the manga and seen the anime for me the romance takes a second or third place in the story. It's just an opinion, not a criticism or complaint just in case.

I'm sure it'll be an experience, but let's see what wins πŸ†

I was thinking the exact same I kind of get why it gets classed as one because of certain aspects which I won't mention incase Gaz sees it and it is kind of spoiler territory but those aspects are such a small and minor parts in the back of the anime that only get mentioned like once or twice in the entire show. while I did enjoy the anime I definitely wouldn't class it as a proper romance anime especially when you consider the other romance anime titles, there is just a massive difference when you compare all these other romance titles to "your lie in april" romance.

Yuki

I 2nd that opinion

Misa2

I haven't watched it obviously lol but it comes up as "Japanese romantic drama manga series written and illustrated by Naoshi Arakawa" so I assume the anime is also?

Metal Lover

I wouldn't call Your Lie in April a romance anime

I didn’t even realize that Your Lie In April was on this list. Love the voice talent of Natsuki Hanae for the MC. And I think your musician side of you will enjoy this one.

Toasterfinal5

really enjoy these genre specific slots, I'd love one for a slice of life comfy show too!! They'd never win against a battle shounen, so I'd enjoy that alot :)

Sumic

So happy that you plan on more n the genre. A good list and I hope those not accepted (I wouldn't call any of them losers) come back in future polls.

Roger Powell

Tough list but Horimiya for me. Horimiya is a very refreshing romance, purely depicting a high school romance with a touch of comedy and friendship, doesn't have a lot of unnecessary drama like most other romances. Even if Horimiya doesn't win the polls (well, at least it gets 2nd place), you should watch it in the future, highly recommended!!

i've only watched a couple your lie in april episodes in the past and its something on my list too so i'll be happy to watch that with you

As much as I love Komi and Wotakoi, I gotta go for the masterpiece that is Your lie in April, just thinking about it gets me emotional.
