There isn't much to add this Episode in general, maybe that it is very common for the younger pre-students to walk in groups because of high traffic in Japan, it is not unusual even that teachers meet with them at a certain place beforehand to walk all together. In some schools it is not uncommon either that other students volunteer to secure road-crossings for the little children too. Here they got old enough to walk alone that is why the group walking was over.
