I have no intention to argue really, I’m beyond terrible at typing and even worse at expressing my thoughts accurately, so even if I did try lol it wouldn’t make much sense. I hope I don’t come across as combative…

2024-06-28 05:04:40 +0000 UTCI'm up to date with the novels and she's a psychoath even when not in combat // She rants and rants in her head about how she detest war and how is a waste of material and human resources but everyone around her percieves her as a merciless warmonger bc that's what she is, she wrote the essay on how is okay to bomb a civil population on her own volution in her free time. I said this before but, she cannot grasp how her whole squad turned into warmongers without realizing she's not only the one who trained them but they're actually rather normal soldiers // Even the way the novel is written shows it, in the chapters from Tanya's POV she refers to herself in third person, as if her mind and the person she is in this world are different entities, is not even "in this world I am", is "Tanya is" when refering to themselves, tho she changes to "I" here and there. // Her dislike of war is rasionalized as "is a waste of material and human lives, but what she really loathes is being in danger herself, except for Visha and maybe Weiss she barely percieves everyone else as humans, she's the kind that could perfectly run a concentration camp and when on trial said "I conducted my work in the most efficient way possible as I was ordered"

The anime is going out of its way to paint her as a evil war and killing obsessed individual.

Tanya is a psychopath and a hypocrite.. or at least that is my reading, she endlesly complains how war is a waste of resources and life yet she revels in the killing and gets drunk in bloodlust. Especially in the novels she wonders how her battalion came to be filled with warmongers and fails to realised she made them that way and that she's the first among them

2024-06-14 05:59:10 +0000 UTCNothing more dangerous to a foot dragging Tanya than getting an energetic cheerful subordinate. 6:10 As soon as Viktoriya heard "Artillery" she ran for that shovel. 10:07 They don't know about CPR yet so they thought Tanya brought him back from the dead so now they are afraid they can't even die to escape her. Tanya was trying to make the training so hellish the recruits would drop out, instead she just trained up the strongest special ops unit in the Empire. Every time Tanya uses the Type 95 it messes a little with her mind trying to get Tanya to believe in Being X, 24:00 Tanya will look for every loophole and bend the rules obeying the exact letter of the law.

2024-06-13 00:29:55 +0000 UTCRandom Fun Fact: Tanya was shouting "Tamaya!" at the faction's destruction because that's what you'd do during a fireworks show at a Japanese festival (basically instead of expressing your joy with "oohs" and "aahs"). It has its roots in a famous pyrotechnics guild named Tamaya from hundreds of years ago. There's also a rival guild called "Kagiya", shouting that serves the same purpose.
