This is a really fun watch. Cute high school rom-com with A LOT of referee moments. You picked up on their dynamic right away. You'd probably enjoy watching this anime.

Starts off a bit dark, but becomes much more wholesome towards the end. Both seasons are worth a watch IMO. Not an exceptional anime, but an enjoyable school comedy/romance story.
