Definitely an incredible anime. The first 3 episodes make you think it's something else entirely, so it kind of went under the radar last season because some dropped it before it finds its footing, but once it does somehow every episode is better than the last. Even when you think it's topped itself, somehow it gets better consistently. It has a sky-rocketing trajectory in terms of quality. It's not just a romance, but about growing up and dealing with love through it . So amazingly well-written where it feels like no moment is wasted and it's all built on top of each other. The characters grow and feel so real. The music can't be understated. The composer is the one who did the OST for A Silent Voice and it shows, making so many scenes way more grandiose than you'd think. Season 1 was my favorite romance in many years, but season 2 which is currently airing has elevated it beyond that to just being one of my favorite anime ever in general. I wholeheartedly have been recommending it to everyone, even people who normally dislike romcoms because it's very special. Definitely would like to see a reaction to it!

2024-02-19 03:20:59 +0000 UTCI went into this thinking I’d end up dropping it pretty soon, as it seemed like just one of the many romcoms without substance that have come out in the last few years. But I soon had to change my mind. There are some cringey moments here and there, mostly in the first part, but even those scenes end up helping in giving us a more down-to-earth, realistic and relatable plot and characters. And one of its strong points is indeed how the protagonists have to face their daily problems and insecurities, fight them and grow from them. Instead of having static characters that keep repeating the same shtick over and over, the anime gives us a beautiful dynamic story of personal growth and self-awareness. The EDs are sung by a Japanese singer/YouTuber called Kohana Lam. The first season ended up among the best anime of the year, and Season 2 is easily the best anime of this season. I hope it’s something you will manage one day to get to.

From the OPs and EDs you would assume it's a pure romance anime and that's a big part of it. But the comedy in this anime is insanely funny, which isn't always the case with anime. The anime is weird in a good way. Pretty much everyone who has watched this anime and didn't drop it after two episodes agrees that it's a real hidden gem. The first episodes are already very good, but very strange and not to everyone's taste. But the anime gets better from episode to episode. The anime is incredibly well written and especially the character development is amazing! Both main characters are lovable weirdos in their own way. It's my personal favourite romcom anime of all time and definitely my favourite anime of last season and this season (the second season is currently running). I would be so happy if you would react to this anime one day!
