And that's a wrap, huh? For me personally, this was easily the worst season of the series so far due to a combination of things. Of course from a technical standpoint, this was an outstanding show yet again. The animation, the art, the fight scenes themselves were incredible. This arc was relatively short in the manga and the anime was too drawn out with 11 episodes. Demon Slayer always had flashbacks of course, but this season was particularly egregious with the timing and length of them, breaking up fights several times to show us another flashback that we ALREADY got shown before. Then there's the fact that, compared to Daki and Gyutaro, the two demons that were being fought this time around just...didn't have the same "presence" to them? I don't know how to describe it - they just didn't feel as threatening to our main cast, I never really thought anyone would actually die here. Unfortunately, I also thought the two Hashira were not on the same level as Rengoku or Uzui. This isn't the animes fault - it's not really much better in the manga for these two either but going from Uzui to these two felt like a big downgrade to me. On top of all this, some things in the plot were just a bit head-scratching (no pun intended lol). Like...at this point, our heroes have encountered several demons who didn't die when their heads were cut off - why did they react so surprised when it happened this time around? All in all, the previous seasons easily masked the weaknesses of the series while this season just didn't. That being said - I am still very much looking forward to the next season(s) because despite the manga falling off in the end, I LOVED some of the upcoming fights.
