Thrilled to see you picking up vinland saga, this is personally my favorite series of all time!! Absolutely beautiful story with complex characters, I'm sure you'll love it.

I like how you were questioning whether you should like Floki or not. You'll come to find as you watch this series that some characters you probably should hate and despise, you can't help but end up liking them and rooting for them by the end of season 1 just like the rest of us. As for the general story line so far, the upcoming war between Denmark and England was a real event in history and is portrayed very well in the anime, and I think you'll be surprised at the direction Thorfinn and Thors' journey takes through the rest of the season.
