This anime makes me well up with tears a lot, and many of the scenes I understand why because of favorite characters dying or experiencing some kind of traumatic event. But I was legitimately surprised how emotional I got at the end of this one when Conny killed Daz and Samuel. I always tear up now, I can't even imagine how devastating that must feel to be in their position. Also a tidbit of information that makes this more heartbreaking. Daz and Samuel have actually been with them since they were first in the cadets. They were small parts, but they were there. Daz was the cadet who Historia stayed behind to save in the snow in that flashback of her and Ymir (the one who collapsed and Historia was pulling him on the sled.) And even more heartbreaking, Samuel was the cadet who fell off the wall when the Colossal titan appeared at the end of S1EP4 and Sasha ran down the wall to save him by piercing his leg with the maneuver gear. Sasha saved him at that time just so Conny would murder him years later. This show man.

2023-04-05 18:08:34 +0000 UTCHi Gaz. Just signed up about an hour ago. 😊 the last scene was difficult to watch. Hats off to Conny’s VA. I believe that his howling scream is a reflection of the anguish of all the characters who “got blood on their hands”. Doing it in order to “save” the world. It’s absurdly insane & tragically sad.
