Fun novel fact. In his last moments Brain went so massivly above his limits, he would die anyway in minutes from massive strain this single strike put on his body BUT it was so powerfull it would accualy do damage if it landed, so IIRC the Cocytus immunities it would make it equivalent of something lvl 60, or even 70 could do. And thats firepower respectable even by Nazarick standards

Basically he understood that Brain was protecting that path, and decided to take the long way around him out of respect. Brain actually succeeds in his last moments in surpassing Gazef in strength and reaching the realm of Heroes. The amount of strain on his body from pushing past his limits was actually going to kill him afterwards anyways. Cocytus was seriously impressed by how strong he was for a human.
