Attack on Titan S4 Episode 19

Attack on Titan S4 Episode 19

Comments

I'm not 100% sure, but I've always thought, "There's no way this is the first time these two have touched." But now that I think about it, Eren has always had the Founding Titan so wouldn't he of seen Annie's memories when he fought her? Or Reiner's? Now I just confused myself overthinking it. Lol. I might be spreading misinformation. Fuck! Lol. I did a little digging and it seems like nobody has a definite answer as to how they transferred memories. Because now that I think about it, Eren can only use the Founding Titan's powers if he's touching royal blood, which he isn't during that scene. Someone mentioned that all people who inherit the same Titan have access to the memories of each other. So I'm thinking that since Galliard didn't actually eat Marcel, he never got those memories because he never actually came into contact with him as a Titan. So it must of just been because Reiner and Galliard touched for the first time he got access to a specific memory involving Reiner. Maybe Reiner took extra precautions to not touch Galliard in order to avoid him learning the truth. Galliard may of even told the military if he found out the truth. It's just so hard to believe they never touched until then. So I apologize. I may have mislead you guys. Oof. AOT can be so confusing sometimes. I did read some people thinking it had something to do with the Founding Titan though. And it DID feel like there was a reason for them all being in contact at the same time.

That's a great catch, I've watched this show through countless times but never made the conscious connection to the detail of Reiner being in contact with Eren, which is what allowed the memories to be transferred.

Also, just to clarify because you looked a little lost (totally understandable by the way.), but maybe I'm wrong and you weren't. When Reiner was telling Galliard (the jaw titan) to find the strength and get up, he touched him. Since Reiner was touching Eren who has the Founding Titan in him, Reiner and Galliard were able to exchange memories through the Founding Titan's powers. So Galliard saw in Reiner's memories, the moment they were all at the camp fire and Marcel (Galliard's brother, the original Jaw Titan) told Reiner the truth about how he tricked the military by hyping up Reiner and talking down on Galliard. So when Galliard was unable to heal himself because Eren dealt him too devastating of a blow, that's the whole speech he had while walking towards Eren, Reiner, and Titan Falco. He said I saw my brother's memories about how he tricked the military into making your lousy ass a warrior. Basically that he finally knew the truth. That Galliard was always better than Reiner. And then, rather than just die, he sacrificed himself so that Falco could continue to live on as a human and not a mindless Titan.

Two brothers.. Colt and Falco, Eren and Zeke, Galliard (Porco) and Marcel.. the author couldn't of picked a better title. Also, remember that Gabi and Reiner are cousins. So she's watching her cousin potentially be eaten by Falco, or she's watching Reiner have to kill Falco.. someone who she feels she dragged into this. Just amazing writing.

Ray

I wish I could see more comments like this about Gabi.. It is insane the amount of people who dont, or are just unwilling to understand her.

Ray

Say what you want about Gabi, but this episode solidified her as one of my top characters in AoT. Yes, she killed Sasha, yes she's been a brat for god only knows how long, but her development has been amazing. I know people refer to her as 'mini Eren', because she is, she experienced her home town being trampled, her friends being killed; but she has the one thing that Eren lacks, the ability to understand. In the wake of her world crumbling around her, she was able to change, and understand that the people she is so hell bent on killing aren't the devils she truly believes them to be. The irony in the fact that the parents of the very child she killed, are the same ones that changed her life forever. Absolutely amazing character.

Oh noooooo I'm so sad this episode was not part of the trio of episodes (19,20,21) hahahah dang. Can't wait for next week when things finally all make sense 😆

I'm watching this a little later and... I just can't forgive Eren for essentially killing my shared number one male AoT character... I'm sorry but I can't 🥲

Season 4 part 2(S4 ep 17 and beyond) is the only ones I watched when they were released weekly. and of course they are the most intense cliffhanger filled emotional rollercoaster episodes the series has to offer. Glad you're finally catching up.

Electrical Engineer = Best Engineer

Episode 19... always breaks my heart and shocks me, no matter how many times I watch it. Rest in Peace Porco(😭), Colt, and everyone who died 🙏✨️
