The only reason she asked for the sword from that noble is because she knew he had some adolescent kids. Since she knew he would want to keep the family heirloom within his own family she knew by asking for it he may suggest that she become a concubine of one of his sons. As you could see everyone was understandably grossed out once they realized her true intentions.
