Another comment giving info (non-spoilery) to help with confusion and fun stuff: •Fun Fact to start us off! The fact "Icy Burst" can only be used 3 times is really important. Remember Zaryusu said "Keep shooting the fireballs, I'll dispel them all!" after using it to dispel them twice, prompting the Lich to change to lightning primarily. If the Lich *hadn't* switched and forced him to use it again there on their charge, he wouldn't have had it to create the smoke screen at the end, and protect his allies from the close range blast! In other words, the same way Ainz beat Shalltear (by falsifying information and deceiving his enemy) is how Zaryusu beats the Lich! •I don't want to spoil what Demiurge is doing, as they might address it directly in a future series, but I'm not sure. You do have everything you need to figure it out. •Spawn Undead isn't explained well so here you go, some more fun LN knowledge: Nazarick was originall a dungeon, in Yggdrassil players could conquer dungeons and claim them as guild bases. When you did so the auto-respawning monsters would be incorporated into the guilds defenses. So the "Spawn Undead" were essentially creatures that automatically spawn, for free, every day, inside of Nazarick. So long as there are less then a certain number of them. Thus they literally had no impact on Nazarick's strength to lose them. •How did he make it perfectly square?! MAGIC! xD •This is less a fun fact and more a counterpoint. Those there might fully be aware that fighting them is pointless, but there are others they sent for evacuation, etc. They won that first fight with minimal casualties. If they just agreed to allow surrender and *didn't* make a point of shattering their resolve completely, a prideful species such as the Lizardmen would always harbor ideas of rebellion. It's cruel, but it's a "necessary" evil for the stability of Nazarick, thus it's more beneficial to make the example then to not. •The experiment was specifically: Does Cocytus/the Guardians think for him(them)self or simply follow instructions and act on his programming. If he doesn't think for himself can he learn to? So we answered the first question "no, he acted purely on orders without thought" up until the moment he realized he might lose he didn't think to ask for advice or do any information gathering. Now we see how it plays out, will Cocytus learn from his previous mistakes? How will he go about establishing "a rule without fear"? etc
