Chapter 91 - A Day on the Mountain (3) (Day 6)

Nick started down the mountain quickly, following after his parents. They were pretty decently far ahead, thanks to Lori pushing him down and getting a head start. They didn't make a bet on a race this time which was good because Nick could see already that his chances of catching up were slim to none. So instead of racing down Nickdecided to cut back and forth a few times spraying a bit a snow about as he went. Nearly halfway down Nick heard someone calling his name from above. "Nick! Up here!" Someone, clearly a girl, called out. Nick stopped and looked up to the lift. Sitting together on the lift were his sisters Lynn & Ashley. "You two warmed up and ready for the advanced hill then?" He called up to them.

"Yep! Wait for us at the bottom!" Lynn called back. Nick gave them a quick thumbs up and then continued down the mountain. When he approached the bottom he saw his parents talking. He couldn't hear them, but saw that the conversation was fairly animated and though their backs were turned, their body language seemed to indicate a fight was taking place. As he got closer he heard his dad say something that sounded accusing towards his mother, though he couldn't make out any specific words. However, he heard he mother's defensive reply loud and clear, "No! Of course I didn't! What is wrong with you today?! You're disgusting!"

"Just saying what it looked like." Daniel replied with a shrug. Obviously hearing Nick approach they both turned and Nick noticed an angry expression on his mother's face quickly change to a happy one, though Nick was pretty certain it was a facade. Daniel's face was unreadable. He didn't look angry, but he didn't look like he was having a particularly good time either. Instead he looked drained or maybe a little sad. "Ready to head back up?" Lori asked with a smile. "Let's wait a bit, I saw Lynn and Ashley riding the lift up as we were coming down. They should catch up soon."

"Oh cool, yeah we can wait." Lori said happily. "Yeah sure." Daniel said as well, though he sounded a bit distracted. The air felt a little tense and the silence that fell over them while they waited was awkward. Thankfully, it wasn't long before Ashley came racing down the mountain with Lynn giggling not far behind. "Thanks for waiting." Ashley said as she came to a stop. Lynnattempted to stop hard and spray snow at her family, however it didn't quite work out. She stopped much faster than she was ready for and ended up falling back onto her butt. She did manage to spray snow, but it fell more than a foot in front of her family who was now laughing at her poor attempt. "Nice try!" Ashley laughed. "Not your best work!" Nick added with a laugh. "Alright, let's head back up." Daniel said with a smile turning to go up the lift once again. Though it seemed to Nick that something was bothering his dad. Still, they all approached the lift and this time Lori and Daniel shared a seat while Nick sat with his sisters on th chair behind. Nick felt a bit squished sitting between them on the fairly small lift seat, but decided not to complain about it.

On the way up Ashley asked, "Is everything alright? Dad seemed a little weird." Nick nodded in agreement and said, "Well you remember that dream I told you I suggested he have?" Nickstarted. "What dream?" Lynn interrupted. Nickturned to his left to his youngest sister and quickly explained, "Yesterday I suggested dad have a dream about mom and I having sex and that he be unable to forget about it. Not sure why I did it, but here we are." Then he turned back to Ashley and continued, "Well all morning mom has been kind of flirting with me and teasing me a bit, like, in front of dad. She said he was like.. into it?.." Nickheard Lynn gasp slightly, but it was Ashley who spoke. "That's... a bit odd.. isn't it?" Nick shrugged, "I mean, yeah, it is, but mom said it was just harmless fun. She said dad thought the dream was like a sexy fantasy, not something that could like actually ever happen."

"He doesn't know about last night! Or the night before!" Lynn said mischievously, interrupting once again. "Well that's true.." Nick said feeling a little embarrassed for some reason. "Well, while you two were on the other track, dad and I raced down the mountain and the winner got a kiss from mom. Anyway, long story short I won and we kinda made out on the lift seat on the way back up while dad watched us from behind."

"Hot!" Lynn said quickly. Ashley didn't seemed to think quite like her sister however because what she said was, "That is a bit weird, you think that's what upset him?" Nick shook his head, "Well... we kinda got carried away and mom ended up jerking me off. We did our best to hide it, but I think dad might've noticed..." Nick finished, feeling a bit ashamed. "Fucking hot! She did it on the lift? While dad could see you?!" Lynn exclaimed. "Lynn, relax please. Nick that was pretty dumb of you both. You don't really surprise me, but I am surprised mom went along with it... Did dad say something about it?!" Ashley asked sounding a little worried. "No, he acted like all we did was kiss and that everything was normal. But, just before you two joined us I thought I heard them fighting about something and ever since dad has seemed a bit... off." Nick answered.

"I think he's just being sensitive, it's not a big deal." Lynn said with a huff. "That's because you're a little nympho and you're not thinking about dad's feelings." Ashley replied rather harshly. "You seemed to enjoy that side of me last night." Lynnretorted, sticking out her tongue and wiggling it suggestively. Ashley blushed, but also smiled and said, "Touché little sister, still I think we need to try and cheer dad up. Let's just act like a normal family for a while?"

"Lame!.." Lynn said crossing her arms and pouting like a brat. "No she's right Lynn, best behavior little sister." Nick said, obviously in agreement with Ashley.

The rest of the morning and early afternoon passed rather uneventfully. Nick and his sisters did their best to keep the mood light and make their father laugh whenever possible. It seemed to work as his once stone faced mood became more positive and he started smiling regularly. By the end of the day he was the one who suggested they have a family game night in the evening after they get home and have a nice dinner. Everyone agreed saying it sounded like fun and a great family bonding opportunity.

When they did finally get home Nick could barely feel his feet. Throughout the day bits of snow had landed in his shoes and, now melted, made his feet quite cold and wet. "I'm gonna take a shower and try to warm up." He announced not long after walking through the front door. "Sounds good, I'll get a fire going and then probably do the same." Daniel replied, in a noticeably better mood than he had been earlier in the day. "Good idea, we all need to warm up. Then I'll get started on dinner." Lorisaid with a smile and a kiss on Daniel's cheek. Nickheaded to his room and peeled off his wet socks and went into the bathroom. He turned the water as hot as he could stand and got in letting his body adjust from the cold. It felt amazing and once clean and warm he decided to head out to the kitchen.
