HOTEL LEX - FLOOR 2 (10/10) BRANCH

You brace yourself and swing out the towel off your back. As the otter jumps, you whip the towel around and snatch him out the air. You wrap him up, avoiding any physical contact with the squeaky creature. It squirms and squees as you force the towel into a ball. You look around, unsure what to do. You think fast and decide to test whatever the liquid is on the ground. You hold the bundle above your head before hurtling it down with all your might and letting go. Instead of a splat you were expecting, the towel disappears under the surface with a splash. The puddle before you dissipates into the air and into the pool where it floats above the water like oil. You step around the remaining puddles that are much smaller in size now. You look down and see little arms reaching up, unable to fit through the puddles. The otter squeals angrily before a yelp and then silence. You don't wait around to see what could be hidden underneath and scurry across towards the exit.

You turn the corner and see a heavy-duty door with the words FIRE ESCAPE written across it. You push down on the metal handle and it opens with a clank. You look into a dusty stairwell that winds upwards in a confusing spiral-like pattern. You hear sounds of people muffled behind what you can only imagine is a door. It shines brightly upstairs but you notice the stairwell also leads down. You peer into the darkness, hoping to see something. Nothing but a small red light blinks at an irregular pace. Your fur stands on end for the third time tonight. Something unsettling rests behind that light and your gut feeling tells you to move up towards the light. You weigh your options and consider your time. If you make it up further faster than everyone else, you might be able to make it out alive...
