Realistic or Cartoony?

I was watching Monster High and really love their animation style. I built up a quick rig of a version of Little Lorna in that style.
I like the realistic version too and am having a difficult time deciding which style will work better for animations?
Do you like the more realistic style or the Saturday Morning cartoon style?
