Whore 4 Lore (Io)

The witch of the Sea. Io is one of the oldest witches to have existed and surfaced from the seas. When she first emerged to the beach, she saw Kor being prefusely thanked by a stranger as she has made him a spear with her magic. She was intrigued with Kor's humbleness and the fact that she wasn't bothered by people in the background being afraid of her. When some of the observants start to throw rocks at Kor, Io intercepted with her waves and Kor protected the people instead. The people ran and Io talked with Kor, later falling in love. At least Io did.

At her prime she and Kor made a haven for her followers, in a country now known as Cevied. Unlike Kor, Io did not believe in humanity, but she believed in Kor and her judgement.

She loved the idea Kor had and her pure heart, but that does not mean she necessarily believed in the kindness of men. Still she did her duties to please Kor. She used to guide pirates and sailors back home as Kor would praise her for each life saved.

Along her journey of moving from island to island, Io met Ivar and after seeing the young 5 year old alone on an island, growing food for himself while not even being able to speak, she decided to take care of him as her own.

Her love for Kor trumps over her love for Ivar though and at 14, Ivar started to roam on his own which led him to be molested by some of Kor and Io's followers, however he managed to push them back and restrain/kill them with his flowers. Flowers growing through their orifices as Ivar ran.

Io was devestated and wished for the survivors to be killed, but Kor asked for mercy and this caused a rift between Io and Ivar as Io chose to follow Kor's orders. They somewhat rekindled after Ivar married and had a son, but that was short lived as Io followed Kor to Ignia and the events of Kor's imprisonment follow suit.

When I first designed Io, she was based by the Green Lady, a myth in Indonesian tales. In the myth she is a green skinned old hag who steals children and drown them at sea. Here I kept some of her trademark coloring (green hair, black robes)
, but her backstory is more of an obsessed lover who is loyal to a fault and is still grieving over her lost love.
