There are far better and far creepier episodes later on, but this is a strong showing so early in the series. Aside from his abilities, just the performance of Toombs absolutely freaked me out as a kid, not to mention launching himself out of the vent. I do feel the handcuffs were a bit of a copout. I mean this guy can squeeze his whole body down a chimney, but he can't squeeze his hands out of a set of cuffs? Also the weird thing about going back and watching these old shows is seeing actors you know from much later in their careers. I saw this episode as a kid, but Donal Logue was just a random, forgettable name in the credits then. It was King Horik on Vikings and Harvey Bullock on Gotham that made me familiar with his work, so it's weird to go back a couple decades before that and see him all baby faced here.

So nice to hear fresh takes on my favorite show especially when it's two seasoned veterans of TV and movie appreciation that I respect. I was here for TOS originally, and ST2:WoK, but have stuck around and enjoyed re-watching TNG and now DS9. I will always be here for X-Files content, I may even join the Discord finally.
