2025-01-09 03:01:18 +0000 UTCI would absolutely love to see you guys react to The Sandman on Netflix. Not sure if you already watched it though.

2025-01-08 20:01:37 +0000 UTCAh Tucker and Dale Vs Evil is a favourite of mine - great choice whoever requested it! I was absolutely crying with laughter the first time I watched it

2025-01-08 08:03:04 +0000 UTCOh and I second the idea of a favorite character from your initial impressions of the pilot poll, contrasting that towards a favorite character at the end of the show (or maybe it could be a seasonal ranking?) Anything for more rankings and tier lists lol

2025-01-08 05:34:39 +0000 UTCI really hope you guys can make it to full time creators this year too!

2025-01-08 04:50:52 +0000 UTCDon't worry. DS9 is most definitely different. And quite honestly, it does give you everything you have been asking for and more so. Yes, the first two seasons it is finding its footing. But even then it is evident they are going for a different take than TOS or TNG while still remaining faithful to its roots. And thankfully it will still be going on for at least part of time Voyager airs. Because Voyager is, quite frankly, a slog to get through. If DS9 is the best series in the franchise, Voyager is easily the worst. Just seven years of NOTHING. Even more episodic than TOS. Little to no character growth. A static situation that never really changes. Major developments are either retconned out of existence by time shenanigans or just ignored completely. They started out with a fantastic concept and a unique situation and dropped the ball almost immediately. Except for a handful of stand-out episodes, it truly is bland. The textbook definition of mediocrity. Voyager is like going to your great-grandma's house and she's serving warm milk and crackers. And those horrible ribbon candies that stick to the candy dish. There are only two (and later three) characters that stand out, are interesting, and actually go through significant character arcs. Take away Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and Jeri Ryan and you are left with nothing much. I finished the series mostly because after DS9 ended, it was the only Star Trek around. And even bad Star Trek is better than no Star Trek. This is just my opinion. Your milage may vary. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―

2025-01-08 04:01:43 +0000 UTCGroovy. Shatner has a couple ST sketches from when he hosted in December 1986, while Patrick Stewart has a pretty great one when hosting in February 1994 right before TNG wraps up its last season. There's a few more here and there but those are the best ones.

2025-01-08 02:07:37 +0000 UTCThanks I appreciate that! Reacting to little extras like that falls in line with what I said regarding absolutely open to doing so when we have the time!

2025-01-08 00:32:04 +0000 UTCWanted to say this was very informative and an enjoyable to watch update/AMA. As a new member I appreciate the straightforward clarity on how the sausage gets made, where the limitations and interests balance out, and so on. Makes it real easy to be a supporter with such transparency. I'm a big advocate for creators to not put too much burden on themselves to the point of not enjoying their channels. Enjoy the adventure! If I disagree with your takes on an episode or movie that's often far more interesting than agreeing. Quick Q: Any thoughts on reacting to things like Star Trek themed SNL sketches (once at/past release date, of course)?

2025-01-08 00:22:34 +0000 UTCI'm a new guy to the patreon, but I just have to say, as others have noted, the activity in this patreon is insane. The level of discussion is insane on both sides. Hoping I can actually help perpetuate the good vibes I'm picking up on here because this is more than a novel experience. And as I dumbly said to /our guys/ in a DM, I had blocked these two with a youtube browser addon back in like 2022 or something when they had some wide mouth thumbnail and one of the first previews was something about comparing a moment to infinity war or something. Glad I gave them another shot like two or three weeks ago with the TOS/TNG playlists because it's been great, even the non-Trek stuff. My bad on jumping the gun lads.

2025-01-07 23:57:35 +0000 UTCOn a side noteβ¦ I think you originally planned on starting with TNG. Iβm REALLY glad you decided to start with TOS instead. Not only is it an important foundation for your TNG experience, dear God, to have missed all thatβ¦ I canβt imagine.
