LIVE STREAM PATREON GOAL UPDATE

ICYMI - PATREON LIVE STREAM GOALS

WOW! Still 3 days away from the stream and there has already been 58 new Target Demographic members! Many of them annual as well! You are all amazing 🙏🏻

This means the 50 member goal to watch an episode of any series we tried before has been met, so go ahead and start dropping your suggestions and making your arguments now haha

We wanted to have 3 goals we can hit on stream, so since 50 has already been hit we are introducing an additional goal… at 150 we will watch a FULL season 2 of a series we watched 1 season of and stopped! We will listen to opinions on this, but it will ultimately be our choice. The main difference with this goal is that both the UNCUT & EDITED reactions will be EXCLUSIVE to Patreon for all tiers $10 & up! It will be planned for the Spring.

Keep in mind this would be IN ADDITION to the Patreon Exlusive series being decided by the Bridge Crew in November.

Let’s keep it going! 🖖

I realized that even though myself and others have recommended Signs and Portents from Babylon 5, maybe it's best to just stick to release order and watch S01 E01 Midnight on the Firing Line. Signs and Portents has more context if you see Midnight on the Firing Line first, and it's a much better introduction to the series than The Gathering. Plus, you'll be watching the show similarly to how it was first released. A lot of time passed between the airing of The Gathering, and the production of Midnight on the Firing Line, and you can tell that they had to make a lot of changes to the show during that time. As a result, The Gathering feels like proto Babylon 5, while Midnight on the Firing Line is the proper start to the series.

I hope you go back to The Expanse.

Monty Crawford

Red Dwarf - Marooned. I was shocked by the partial reaction you had to the series premier. It's honestly a great series - maybe try one of the best episodes.

Bret Kay

Was eager as hell but politics & other stuff spent all my money at the critical time. I'll be a redshirt for now, still living for your DS9 arc.

Monk Without a Cause

I realized that this episode does spoil a few minor things. S01 E10 The Believers, or S01 E13 Signs and Portents might be better choices. The Believers is a good stand alone, while Signs and Portents introduces you to the actual main plot of the show without spoiling where it's all going to go.

BN13

I second any of these episodes. Believers, Signs and Portents, or Passing Through Gethsemane. Maybe even Confessions and Lamentations. Although of these, Believers and Signs and Portents have the least probability of spoilers.

BN13

Instead of S1E10 Believers I'd suggest S3E4 Passing Through Gethsemane. It's also a standalone episode with religious overtones, showing how unlike shows of the time (and now) B5 can treat religions and beliefs with deep respect and still raise powerful societal issues. For me Gethsemane checks all the same boxes as Believers (except maybe the hubris messaging) but does it much better. It was actually planned for much earlier (S1) but got delayed to S3 for real world reasons, which is a whole other story itself. Almost didn't get made!

Paul Hess

Frell yeah! Let’s hope we can make it happen 🤞

TalynStarburst

Ok fine, I upgraded, the Hype lol. As some have already said, I'd love for you guys to watch more Farscape. I'd say season 1 episode 15, Durka Returns. It's a great episode that isn't too far along where you're getting anything spoiled in case you ever go watch more of the show in order. Or my second choice would be Talyn's Farscape recommendation of the two parter near the end of season 1, Nerve/The Hidden Memory.

Murtaugh

I'd love for them to watch more Farscape and it is hard to choose. Crackers don't matter would be great, though I think sticking to an episode in season 1 would be better as later episodes don't hit as hard without The LORE/earlier character development 🤔

Murtaugh

Hell yeah, I second and third and fourth... etc. on that Farscape 2 parter!

Murtaugh

For the goal of reacting to an episode of a series you tried before, I am suggesting two possible episodes of Babylon 5. The first is S1E10 "Believers" and the second is S1E13 "Signs and Portents." The first is a stand alone episode that really emphasizes that this is NOT Star Trek and that stories in this show do not always end the way you think they will. The second really sets up a lot of the main plot of the series from that point on, and serves as kind of a teaser. I think you guys would like either one, and I hope some other B5 fans out there can second one of those suggestions. Anyway, thanks and glad to be part of the journey!

Paul O'Neal

Got it and it will be added

Josh (Target Audience)

I'd like to recommend Stargate SG-1 for a reaction. It holds a space in my sci fi heart along with Star Trek.

Matthew Rudolph

Ah, I thought you'd stopped. Ok, the B5 suggestion then. :)

tyranusfan

Thank you Derek 🙏🏻

Josh (Target Audience)

The rest of BSG season 1 is already UNCUT here on Patreon

Josh (Target Audience)

I can't remember how far you got, but the new Battlestar Galactica, S1.E10 ∙ The Hand of God. OR Babylon 5, season 1, Signs and Portents

tyranusfan

I couldn’t find where I message you, so do I just give you the choice of movie here for the lottery? If so, I would like to add Suicide Kings (1997)

TalynStarburst

Join me and we will get them to watch MST3k

Phil Ken Sebben

Vote for Shawshank Redemption, so you can rectify Josh's not watching it yet. I'm loving your content, I've been subscribed since your TOS start, your evolution into the movies and TNG have been great. Keep boldly going! 🖖

Derek Lawrence

Well, someone's gotta represent.. Quantum Leap: "The Leap Home" Parts 1 and 2.

Joe Concepts

Let's see... 100+ memberships x $10/month for 132 remaining episodes... hmm

Ian Ramsey

Something to know about Buffy, and maybe you already know, but if you're not watching it on DVD, you're probably watching a stream of the "remaster" in HD and in widescreen, and not only is it a botched remaster (poorly 'upgraded', and they messed up the coloring and contrast/brightness) but the show was filmed with 4x3 in mind, so now there are shots where you'll actually see the crew and/or equipment in some shots. Not the show's fault, rather the studio bastardizing this "upgrade".

Thanks!

Talyn is back!! 🤯🥳

Josh (Target Audience)

Ok, you got me to rejoin and annually lol. I’m still busy, but can hopefully have some time aside to watch your content here and there. Other then Buffy’s Hush, I would like to throw a Farscape two parter out there that really takes the series off at the end of the first season “Nerve and The Hidden Memory” season 1 episode 19 and 20. I understand if you can’t make it work because it’s a two parter.

TalynStarburst

I was thinking about this one too.. as they have watched the first episode. I feel if they would pull off watching a two parter, Nerve/The Hidden Memory would be good to go introducing Scorpius.

TalynStarburst

I entered a joke entry before but I realized one I would like to go into the poll. It is from the not watched season 2 of the original BSG (rightfully not watched). BSG 1980 Ep 10 " The Return of Starbuck" (is it S1 Ep10 or S2 Ep10?). It is the only BSG 1980 ep worth watching the rest are turd salad sandwiches.

Prof Moff

You finally got me. Been watching for a little over 2 years. Life long Star Trek fan. Great content keep it up.

Major Daniel H

Babylon 5 - S03 E04 Passing Through Gethsemane. It's a standalone episode so it shouldn't spoil anything from the main plot of the show, and it will give you a MUCH better idea of what that show can do and why it's good than what you've already seen. Plus it guest stars Brad Dourif, and there's some horror elements to it.

BN13

The Wire

AzoriusMage

Ok, one more series(my last recommendation, I promise)that I'd love to see you guys do more of is The Walking Dead. So the episode I'd pick for you to react to is: Pretty Much Dead Already (Season 2, Episode 7) a really good episode without going to far ahead of where you left off.

Katie Jackson

We have the full series so gotta crack it open someday Haha

Josh (Target Audience)

Another Series that has great episodes is Sliders. I know you guys haven't seen the first episode of that one yet. I'd suggest the pilot but it's a 2 part episode.

Katie Jackson

Ok, I love Hush for Buffy but thought I'd suggest another series as well, Farscape. I've got it to 3 episodes but not sure which one to choose. *Crackers Don't Matter(Season 2, Episode 4) *Out Of Their Minds(Season 2, Episode 9) *The Locket (Season 2, Episode 16)

Katie Jackson

Thanks Alan! Appreciate the jump to annual also!

Josh (Target Audience)

OK... You convinced me! Upgraded. Best Star Trek and reactions content on the internet 👏

Alan F

I sincerely hope that you consider rewatching Buffey, Getting to know both of you through your Star Trek reactions. I really think you would love season two and beyond. I fully endorse watching hush which is Season 4, Episode 10.

Matthew Ganz

I second this episode! I was just making this suggestion on their YouTube video. I think they would appreciate this episode even if they do not watch the series in full.

TalynStarburst

For Buffy, it should probably be Season 4, Episode 10 "Hush". Really well done episode with horror and humor and a unique premise. If that doesn't make you curious to try Buffy again, probably nothing will.
