I sincerely hope TA will get to watch deleted scenes from the movies, particularly ST II: The Wrath of Khan. Upon their first watch of that film, they kept asking why Scotty brought that burned up cadet to the bridge instead of straight to Sickbay.................. a good question. TWO deleted scenes from that movie answer the question. TA asked why some scenes were deleted from "The Measure of a Man" (Josh: "How could they delete THAT!?") Well, Josh: you will be shocked to find out what was up with Scotty in that movie. Shocked beyond belief. No, NO spoilers - just a heads up to "be prepared."

Maxwell "What a sweet ship this is. I've always wanted a Galaxy class vessel....not some piece of crap made out of rearranged Galaxy class parts" As for DS9, the first couple seasons at times felt like a downgrade compared to TNG in my opinion. It was pretty clear that while the 2 shows were running concurrently TNG was still getting the bulk of the available budget, but as the show progressed it got to the point of them spending an average of $4 million an episode, which was a lot in the 90s. There's certainly still times the effects aren't great, but for the 90s it was pretty top notch stuff. The biggest downgrade is just going to be the resolution(that glorious 480p). Ditto for Voyager. Compared to original TNG, DS9 and VOY both pushed the limits of how good you could make the shows look in that resolution. Enterprise was shot in HD and holds up a LOT better as a result(some janky early 2000s CGI aliens notwithstanding). As others have said there are some AI upscale projects, but at this point I doubt we'd ever see an official remaster, unfortunately.

Except in that one edit on YT🤣

If interested, here are extended cuts of selected episodes made by yours truly. Please note this includes episodes that TA have not yet watched https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/k7nxy0k8v5algru6h5epv/AKYGYgScpo9urLOEujMpTJY?rlkey=6ik0g4z85ruk0kfuve2kg2mso&st=pyw4nae0&dl=0

Where is this available?

Joe Ibrahim

Beef tongue, kidney pie. Delicious!

Joe Ibrahim

DS9 quality is bad, you need to learn to torrent the AI upscaled versions.

Jim

I also think cutting the Obrien early "Maxwell is great" transporter stuff was the right move. Makes the punch of what comes later (even just Troi's look) more effective.

Greg Quinn

So the first scene of Picard...Just too much. Comes off patronizing to the rest of the crew and and makes it seen like Picard just loves the sound of his voice too much.

Greg Quinn

The TNG remasters are so wonderful because they found the original movie quality film and scanned it to high revolution.

Tony B

Remember TNG was made for broadcast TV. One hour minus commercials meant they only had so much time.

Kurt Linke

Fortunately, DS9 on DVD looks a lot better than TNG looked on DVD

DS9 is also lit differently, versus the Enterprise's pastels and bright lights, so I think that makes a difference in how it looks in Standard definition.

Unfortunately, it will probably never look that good. But I meant compared to what was shown here.

THE LORE!!!

I’ve always wondered if the Enterprise’s touch panels on the bridge have a “Riker butt sensor” to not accidentally fire phasers or something when he sits on them.

Ron Hubbard Jr

It looks okay, but nothing like TNG in HD.

Whoops, haha. Yes, extended cuts of Brothers, The Wounded, and several later episodes (5x19, 5x25, 6x04, 6x10, 6x11, 6x17, 6x23, 7x10) I'd be happy to share with you at the right time. For the most part, they are meaningful additions. There are several others with available deleted scenes that I just didn't feel were worth adding.

JGoss

Oh????? You’re telling us now?? DAMMIT GOSS!!!

Josh (Target Audience)

These were available on the Blu-ray, and I completed an extended cut of this episode with completed effects, color timing, sound mixing, you name it, all in high definition. I've made it available for download along with many other extended cut episodes.

JGoss

Deep Space Nine looks great. Don't worry!
