Fun episode that perhaps stretches its premise out a little too thin given the runtime. I bet you both are going to love an episode being carried by Crusher though.

One somewhat controversial aspect of this story's TITLE is that Gene Roddenberry wrote lyrics to TOS theme song, entitled "Remember Me" which didn't precisely match up with the tune, although composer Alexander Courage did say in an interview that he would have been happy to revise the lyrics to fit his song if he had been asked. The tune "should" be sung by a female, like the operatic voice in TOS theme as heard in the remastered Season 2, which you guys went wide-eyed over when you watched "Amok Time" . . Gene's lyrics to the tune are online and easy to find, as are various YouiTube-posted renditions of people singing it, including celebrity Trekker, Jack Black. My favorite rendition is at THIS link, starting at Time Index 1:10......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT0w-_Eh1dQ

“Let it go, Wesley. Let go of the anticipation, the expectations, the demands upon yourself. Let it all go. Leave it behind. Yes. The ability is there inside of you. You do not need to look for it. ”

Jovet

Resist herd mentality. Think for yourself.

A surprisingly effective Twilight Zone-esque, psychological horror episode. This episode freaked me out as a kid, because it tapped directly into one of my own personal phobias. Making Beverly the POV character works great in my opinion. Not one of the greats, but one I have no problem sitting down and rewatching

Deep Red

One of my "I can just sit down and watch this episode anytime" episodes. It's great comfort food. Unfortunately I just really don't like The Traveler, so I will take points off the overall score for his appearance.

Ian Westcott

"Let's start with the assumption that I am NOT crazy." Words to live by.

This one is a little weird. I like the misdirect where you see the flash and Beverly is gone, but you see her in the very next shot, so you think everything’s okay, then as it goes on you start to think maybe this is all in her head, and finally back to reality. Nice callback to the Traveler from season 1, but I was surprised they revisited Wesley’s “specialness.”

tyranusfan

I love the character of Dr. Crusher, but this episode is not for me. They should all be freakin out inside the space bubble. Poor poor plot hole.

Patrick Smith

Patrick Stewart's calm, condescending delivery of "We've never needed a crew before" haunts my dreams.

bab

I can totally see Beverly saying that line..

Glenn Johnson Barnes

The writer, Lee Sheldon, was another “only there for a few weeks” TNG producer, but he did help bring in Jeri Taylor. A solid episode, but Gates elevates it to something special.

Glenn Johnson Barnes

Totally. I'm expecting Josh to make multiple Twilight Zone references during this one.

KevinH

Dude, in 4x3 ratio EVERYONE’S a creeper.

Column Meanie

Fun fact! Gates found out she was a few weeks preggers shortly after filming this one, and yes that was her doing her own stunts!

Column Meanie

Alas, I've seen too many reviews online pointing it out to not at least see how they got there. Same with the Kirk/Spock shippers. I don't think of them as such myself, but I see what got some fans to go there.

Nolan

Imagine being anywhere, and this happening to you! 😱

supermongie

LOL I never thought about The Traveler in that way.

Mike Rogers

Took the thought right out of my head.

supermongie

He's not creepy...?

Jovet

I always say there’s nothing wrong with me, just with the universe.

Brian Moore

Now after 3 seasons, we know the crew and they know each other. The writers, directors and crew can use crazy science fiction prompts but still trust each other. I did not remember the name of the episode, and Remember Me means something else to me now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0azOIk0Kvg

This episode is ridiculous. And I love every minute of it. Ludicrous dialogue delivered beautifully (esp Picard and O’Brien), we get tons of the Doctor, candy-thriller score, and the pace is brisk right to the finish line, apart from the Traveller’s glacial delivery. Make some popcorn, roll a J. This one’s fun. Weasel excels himself with some diabolically innovative extra-dimensional matricide, but never fear: after some hilarious console-tapping-acting, Shimmering Weasel saves the day. Still love it!

Dr Stubbs would be proud

This episode reminds me of a good Twilight Zone episode. And Gates McFadden is given another opportunity to shine.

Mike Rogers

Somehow it still works

Timothy Nikiforovs

This is one of those classic Star Trek "mystery episodes" where something mysterious is happening, and it's hard to figure out what it is. Some people are complaining that the episode gives away the solution to the problem too early by having Geordi and Wesley's discussion In the "real universe" take place too soon. I'm not sure I concur with this. The tension shifts from figuring out what the hell is going on to wondering if Beverly is going to figure it out in time to be saved. (It's also nice to give Gates McFadden a chance to act as something more than just CMO and Wesley's Mom. She's also a scientist.) Plus we get a look at Picard's respect for her. That said, when you go into this episode for a second time (or later) you remember the mystery, you remember the solution, and the tension of the episode is gone. Whereas I could rewatch "Yesterday's Enterprise" and be just as entertained every time, "Remember Me" doesn't stand up as well. I think this is A-tier initially, but upon full consideration, deserves a B-tier rating. It's still entertaining, but I don't rank it among the best.

John

Good mystery, unique premise, and a great episode for Gates to shine. This is good Star Trek. Also, "creepo" is back. "There's your warp bubble, Wesley..."

Nolan

I love this episode. My only complaint is that I feel we shouldn't have had the reveal of Geordi and Wesley in Engineering in the middle of the show telling us what happened. I'd rather stick to Beverly as she figures it out. Minor issue though.

Alexander McKechnie

Love this episode, huge amount of fun, great lines too

Darren Seal

You want a good Dr. Beverly episode, this is for you! If you like mind-bending Twilight Zone premises, this if for you too! And if you want more evidence that Wesley is [Redacted] we've got that too!

Adam Reid

How eye-rolly is it when Wesley "phases" like The Traveler does? Superchild strikes again. The only part of this episode I don't enjoy. Eye-roll to the extreme.

Jovet

Great Dr. Crusher episode with an interesting mystery. There's a fair bit of technical term usage but I don't think it detracts.

NivekTheIncorrigible

Probably my favorite Beverly centric episode. I love the Twilight Zone esque mystery, though I've heard some people catch what's going on right away and I can see how that can make it less enjoyable. I use the line "maybe there's something wrong with the universe" IRL fairly often as well and anytime you can quote Star Trek in every day life, it's a good thing.

THE LORE!!!

I love how slowly the mystery develops in this episode. Even after the mystery is revealed to the audience, we still understand Dr Crusher’s despair when someone else vanishes and nobody remembers them. It’s like reverse dementia, which is somehow even more scary.

Evan Guthrie

Fun fact about the german dub of this episode: The line "Computer, what is that mist I'm seeing?" was mistranslated. The english word 'mist' would correctly be translated as 'Nebel', however, there is a german word 'Mist', pronounced the same, which translates to 'crap'. So in the german dub, Beverly asks "What is this crap I'm seeing?"

JHVJ

I love this episode. Excellent mix of character and sci-fi.

Jovet

Stop letting Wesley touch shit ! I hope you love this episode, Yes there’s Doctors plot-line Quaice and Beverly Exposition, but HOPEFULLY you didn’t see this from the get go being “ she’s the one that’s gone “ and you enjoy the almost poltergeist direction of good ol’ BOLEEE and CONTINUITYYYY ( and how everyone ignored knocked out Wesley 🤣)
