As I mentioned at the time, I had never seen "The Cloud Minders" before TA.

Im actually glad you guys posted this. As TA members that have been around for, say, at least a year, we’ve kinda “figured you guys out” as far as what you’re looking for, what things about Star Trek and TV in general interest you, and pet peeves. You did a deeper dive here, and frankly we get to know you better through this. Im a “behind the scenes guy” myself, and find the making of a show and technical aspects so cool. But this is a great deep dive into who you guys are. Thanks!

I really do like your reactions! However, as someone who doesn't really have any desire to pick episodes all apart, sometimes I admit to getting a little annoyed when you do it to truly solid episodes. But it's not just you - I listen to multiple podcasts that recap and discuss other shows that I watch, and I sometimes get annoyed with those too. So - it's not just you, it's me 😉

Just from one single perspective of my own entertainment, the thing I miss most from TA is Alex getting buzzed on Fireball while you watch new shows. I'm sure it changed for personal reasons, health, etc. I always found it a fun part of every video. Otherwise, I got no complaints. : )

"We like seeing minor characters die" ... got it. No wonder you enjoyed TOS! :D
Well, I have some non-spoiler great news for you .... over the course of seasons 4-6, there's a TON of small (and perhaps even no) stakes plots, character development, world and lore expansion. And it touches not just he leads, but the recurring supporting characters as well, including your favorite transporter man.
... and then season 7 just gets all over the place LOL
Anyway, it's what made TNG so great, it had something for everyone over the course of its run, much wider appeal than TOS had. It lived with us for many years and aired at ood times, multiple times a day in most markets. They were friends we could almost always find, or expect to come by soon, whenever we turned on the tube.

I'm sure this has been said before, and I love TWOK, but imagine if Khan stayed alive long enough to see the Enterprise warp away...

This journey is a welcomed change. I enjoy your dissection of the scenes, camera work, characters, ect. You both bring a fresh perspective on a beloved franchise which is great. Also you're just getting started in the franchise, so much more to come, and so much fun to be had later down the road, I'm very excited. Thanks as always for doing what you do. 🖖

I find that people come into trek for different reasons, and TNG in particular had enough for a ton of people with different interests to all enjoy, but by the end you're going to know the differences between ships, phaser models you love and hate, technobabble you start to understand ... and the transformation will be complete.

Again with the low stakes? Star Trek would not have lasted a year with this thinking. In season one there might have been two low stakes eps tops.

Believe me, we can tell the tech part of 'Trek is not your forte guys.
"Look, another Enterprise" ...No Alex, that is another Constitution Class Starship.
"Look, another Enterprise"....No, Alex, that is the Excelsior, an Excelsior Class Starship.
But we love you guys anyways, me and my friends used to discuss the episodes after too, and a fresh perspective from a younger generation is cool. Keep going.

I’m here until the last episode of Enterprise. I hope you guys can make this franchise the warm blanket you can return to any time and feel better about whatever life throws at you.

Spring of 2022, I just clicked on a title in the YouTube feed first time watching Star Trek conscience of the King, which is one of the last episodes that the original series. I actually got to see as I never saw it in order and it was interesting that it was one of the first I hated it as the last one I saw overtime I’ve come back and watch that episode many times and seen much more than I saw as a 14-year-old.
Yet, I turned around in my older age watch this with you and I see more through your perspective again that making the show have value beyond its original airing and gives Creedence to the reasons for re-watching episodes.
I am going to stick around all the way through to the end ofstrange new worlds or whatever current Star Trek incarnation exist as your final season in the franchise.
I love seeing things through your eyes even if I don’t agree 100% with your choices.
I wholeheartedly expect that you would not agree 100% with my choices that’s part of what makes the world fun
And looking from your creative film adventures within your channel.
You are looking at the shows with the eyes of filmmakers.
I like that

God speed to both of you going forward. IN truth, though it is joked about often that "It's started!" The journey really has only entered it's adolescence. You've got TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, and if you dare to go beyond that... Hell I know I can speak for most of us, we're here for the long haul.

Thanks for this. While I knew a lot of this already, in a way, hearing it from you in your own words solidified everything, and now I fully appreciate how you watch Star Trek.

I think your perspective matches with a lot of us. I think the majority of us like Trek for the same reasons you mentioned. Star Trek is science fiction for sure, but it is so much more. We like it for the same reasons you do, we just have favourite starship models and phasers. You may too in time :).

Thanks, guys. That explains a lot. I have a much better understanding now of why you think episodes or films, like The Wrath of Khan, were just fairly decent but not great. For that example, a lot of us fans nit-picked it after the film came out, but we still loved it, mainly for the reason that it got the characters and the chemistry right, which we felt that TMP at the time had really failed to do. Hence, TWoK saved the franchise, in our opinions (and without it, you don't have The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, or even TNG).

I’ve been a lifelong trekkie, and yet, until February 2023, I’d never watched all of TOS start to finish. That’s when I discovered y’all, and I’ve been hooked since the jump.
