2024-08-07 15:16:27 +0000 UTCBecause of the commitment. The same reason so many memberships or subscriptions are cheaper if you pay for a longer period. If every monthly patron had a 12-month commitment there wouldn’t be a discount or perks such as this for the annual membership.

I'm considering upgrading once I have money (which I currently don't, hence why I'm in the $5 annual tier.) But I tend to opt out of these sorts of rewards for reasons that it would take too long to get into.
