Steven Universe Future Eps 5&6 Bluebird & A Very Special Episode

Comments

Well said, I agree.

Corvo Joka

i totally agree here, these episodes are particularly weak, character-wise. fusions exist as a metaphor for character dynamics, they have always functioned as a manifestation of two characters, their similarities, emotions, and the relationship they have with each other. in this episode, they exist for gag purposes only. sunstone and rainbow especially are providing us ZERO insight into any kind of emotional development. as fusions, as an episode that focuses on fusions, it was a total failure. it makes me kinda sad to see everyone unabashedly defend these episodes when they are some of the shallowest work put out by the crew through the whole series. i love this show and i love future too, but theres a lot of issues with it i wish more people were willing to address. SAD!!!!!!!

I haven’t seen anyone comment this yet, but the reason why bluebird gave Steven grass, clams, and peanut butter is because she was actively trying to kill him. They contain what people can have allergies of. Pollen (grass), shellfish (clams), and peanuts / treenuts (peanut butter). Also, side note, but who in their right mind can eat THAT MUCH peanut butter in one sitting???

I like Future and don't really mind the choices made in this episode, but I think it's completely fair to dislike it. The problem is Future doesn't really have a proper plot because it only has one season and it's just not enough time to work up some sort of big bad or plot that could be just as interesting as The Diamonds when it's just already been resolved in the first show. Really all of these choices are being made simply to see more of the characters we didn't get much time with in the original show and that's ultimately why all these decisions are happening.

simple, steven complements the personalities of garned and pearl for what they were going for, and they needed a reason for rambow to apear becouse we didn't get anought of him, and overall, that is just a fun episode to relax and chill out, since the show is too short is nice to get a epp that is not that deep, also they felty off character and exagerated becouse it wa the purpose, it's just to be fun and play aroud, so relax mosco, this epp is not that serious or to overthink it, just anjoy the watch :D

hey mosco, just wanted to say i love your reactions, but the audio here is way too low, i can't almost hear something, in the next reaction could you try to record it in a higer volume please? amazing video as always, just a friendely tip from a fan :D

Also it's VERY funny to see someone who doesn't understand the Sunstone bit try to understand the second episode. Basically the whole episode might as well be non-canon and works as a filler to give people more time with the fusions.

All I'll say is that the reason all the characters feel different is because they are. They're all domesticized and calmed down from years of peace and growth. Not to mention that instead of being alone for thousands of years, they all have hundreds of gems to talk to and influence them constantly.

I'll agree Amethyst felt odd when running off crying because of the art, but I dont think Pearl or Garnet have been out of character. Also I prefer to think the things that happened in A Very Special Episode didnt actually happen and were just for the lesson.

This might not translate well to non-american viewers, but Sunstone is a play on those "Radical Dude" mascots they used for child school videos in the 90s and early 2000s.She is a combination of Steven's media literacy and empathy, and Garnets Future Vision and leadership, which allows her to "see" past the 4th wall, so she literally speaks with viewers and give them advice charismatically just like those mascots. She even has suction cup hands as her weapon, which is the most 90s thing ever.
