Here's another interesting clip about Lithgow and Shatner.

William Windom [Commodore Decker in "The Doomsday Machine"] was in two episodes: "Five Characters in Search of an Exit" and "Miniature". John Hoyt [Dr. Boyce in "The Cage"] was in "The Lateness of the Hour" and "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?". Thanks. I wish I had seen that when it aired live.

The war episode that Josh remembered starred Charles Bronson and a pre-Bewitched Elizabeth Montgomery.

Rod Serling was TV's first auteur, and considering your backgrounds you should watch Requiem For A Heavyweight by him. There were two versions, the original teleplay, then they made it into a movie. Its good stuff.

Here are the other Twilight Zone episodes with actors from Star Trek. Leonard Nimoy - "A Quality Of Mercy" James Doohan - "Valley Of The Shadow" George Takei - "The Encounter" This is not including all the guest stars who also appeared on Twilight Zone.

Comedian Dennis Miller said that "Nick of Time" was one of his favorite episodes or perhaps one of least favorite episodes as it really freaked him out. He told Shatner this on his radio show as Shatner was always trying to get Dennis to come to his horse charity events. Shatner's wife in that episode was played by Patricia Rose Breslin (1925–2011). The actress wife was older that the husband actor. You don't see that much anymore. In 1969, Breslin married NFL mogul Art Modell who owned the Cleveland Browns franchise for 35 years and established the Baltimore Ravens franchise. The "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" episode was later recreated for 1983's Twilight Zone: The Movie. John Lithgow plays the Shatner part there. On the sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun, Shatner plays The Big Giant Head and John Lithgow's boss. Apparently there is an episode where John Lithgow's character speaks about what happened in Twilight Zone: The Movie, and Shatner apparently replies that the same thing happened to him too.

For the next ocassion of this kind I would recommend some original "Mission impossible" episodes with Leonard Nimoy. But there were 49 with him in it.

Nightmare at 20,000 is a favorite of mine. The world War II superstition of gremlins involved when things went wrong was well known then.

Gail Seaton Humbert

For your next TV show, you could try Boston Legal. Shatner was hammy, poignant, and brilliant.

I've heard that Lenard Nimoy was also on The Twilight Zone

Joe Ibrahim

I have never seen "Nick of Time". I've seen "Nightmare at 20000 Feet" several times.

Shatner was very hammy in his appearance on The Six Million Dollar Man. The episode was called “Burning Bright.”

James H

You guys should check out William Shatner's Outer Limits episode, "Cold Hands. Warm Heart."

Mark Chrisco

Young Bill Shatner looks 90% similar to young Will Wheaton,

James Baloun

I think the moral of the story was never place a potentially crazy person at the emergency exit.

startrekiborg

Shatner lost 10,000 feet somewhere between the Uncut version and the youtube version! haha

Twilight Zone episodes for the most part are 24-25 minutes in length. It was only Season 4 where they experimented with hour long episodes. Also, six episodes in season 2 were shot on videotape, instead of film, which is quite jarring.

Matt Everkoul

William Shatner was 29 in 1960.

This is one of my top 5 favorite Twilight Zone stories. Great stuff. Honestly, I like this one even better than Terror at 20,000 Feet, even though that's the generally better remembered one by most people.
