Best Anime Ever Bracket Part 9 - FINALE

idr if i said this in the series so sorry if i sound like a broken record but i was supposed to see last evolution in theaters but thank covid (the only time to thank covid) the world shut down cause they would have yanked me out for being a sobbing MESSSSSSS it would have been EMBARRASSING and i would not have had the composure or right mind to hold back i saved the theater the trauma LMFAOOOOO i feel you on loving older things, i think for me my love of something usually goes in flux based on my recency proximity to it like if ive watched or rewatched it closer than something else although there are plenty of things that just stick with me since the first time too. I will say tho that nostalgia is something i just dont really experience in relation to my love of certain media cause i pretty frequently in some capacity revisit series ive loved since i was a kid and i enjoy them all the same if not more because im more developed/have different interests so it always feels like a first time experiencing them with a fresh perspective (things like dragon ball, cardcaptor sakura, shaman king) whereas there are for sure plenty of series ive revisited over the years and been like "why the hell did i think this was enjoyable" lmao so i think that just allows my favorites to be more subject to change cause its just not a bias i have personally but i know plenty of people do

Better late than never! I really like that you'll consider such a new series like Aoashi as your potential favorite over things like Cardcaptors that have that nostalgic factor. And technically, since Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna is a movie, Aoashi takes the top spot for a series by default! But I appreciate why Last Evolution Kizuna won the bracket. I haven't seen it myself but I've heard from longtime fans that it did not disappoint. Personally, my favorite anime is probably still FLCL. Has been pretty much since I first saw it 20 years ago. It's harder for me to let go of my attachment to something that helped to shape me when I was younger and that I still love watching today.
