FINAL 2 MOVIES OF AUDIENCE CUT SEASON 1

The votes have been distributed and The Hunt for Red October was able to garner enough 2nd-5th place votes (yes 5th place votes were needed) to secure the majority! It came all the way down to 3 movies! The runner ups were Contact and True Lies but ultimately neither came very close. Glad to see the ranked choice voting allowed for a wide variety of votes, but The Hunt for Red October was by far the favorite. Hopefully you enjoy it as our season finale! We will be watching this LIVE on Wednesday, May 15th at 6pm eastern. The stream will be available afterwards for the UNCUT reaction. We will also be talking about Audience Cut season 2 plans after the reaction. Hope to see you there!

However, there is still one episode coming before the finale! Alex has made one final pick for the season and it is one of his top 10 favorite movies - Session 9! Josh has seen the film once before, so this will be more commentary than reaction. Because of this, we have decided to try out making this our very first Target Audience Commentary Track! It will be audio only and match up with the film, meaning you should play both at the same time from the start. We would recommend watching the film without commentary first if you haven’t seen it before as we will be discussing spoilers throughout. The track will be available to purchase for download in the shop. Pricing is still being decided, but it will be FREE for AUDIENCE MEMBER & TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC Patrons!

I'm looking forward to it!!!

Adam from Germany

I was 7 when it came out. I didn't catch it until I was 25 or so, and I watch a ton of movies. It happens.

I've had people say those words to me so many times. It's really easy to miss a few Important Movies along the way.

SageGreenGoat

How have you guys never seen this movie?

Kurt Linke

As an animated film, its going to have a hard time getting voted in. I'm always pulling for it though πŸ’ͺ

Hunt for Red October is such a great watch. Easily a top 2 submarine movie. Knowing a "popular" movie would obviously win the poll, Im very happy that this was the result πŸ‘Œ

I normally pay attention to just the Star Trek content but ... I'll very much enjoy watching you react to Red October, it is a great movie.

Joshua Taylor

Red October is the "Top Gun" of submarine movies. Glad to see you guys are getting around to it!

Darin Wagner

Epic film! I don't care for the other Jack Ryan movies, but I adore Red October.

JGoss

I wonder if your entry even counted, given that you listed Akira in all six voting slots!

DG

I heard about this movie from watching "The 50 Best Horror Movies You've Never Seen." This flick is creepy AF.

Michael Figueroa

Just watched the trailer for the first time because of your comment and yeah it’s pretty terrible. It’s definitely not a conventional horror movie. It’s more of a psychological thriller with a slow burn that builds suspense and tension without relying on jump scares or too much gore. We tend to appreciate a story that leaves you thinking a long time after watching and that’s what this did for us. Wouldn’t be incredibly surprised if it’s not for everyone though.

Josh (Target Audience)

I've never seen or even heard of Session 9. The trailer makes it seem like a pretty typical horror film, and neither "typical" nor "horror" are adjectives I'm drawn to. Is this movie better than the trailer makes it out to be? Does it surpass the horror genre in some way? Should I watch it even though it's a little outside my comfort zone?

Gweneviere

If I had a nickel for every red-colored submarine movie I've seen, I'd have two nickels, which isn't much but sure seems like a lot.

Juan TutrΓfor

Terrific outcome. Points for choosing Session 9. Very underrated. You should also consider at some point, The Ruins.

SinocTheHodgeheg

This is my favorite of the two red-colored submarine thrillers.

Joe Concepts

The ranked voting idea has been debated lately but it's not used in too many places in the US. I think some local elections do it, but pretty sure not on a national level.

Joe Concepts

Excellent.

Monty Crawford

I wish. There are some states that started using it. I believe Alaska does.

Josh (Target Audience)

Very good Basil Poledoris music score for 'Red October'. John Milius did some rewriting of the script.

Numinous2019

HYPE! Sorry for another sub movie so soon, but I hope you will dig the characters and dialogue. Can't wait for TRUE LIES, CONTACT, and TOMBSTONE at some point!

StonyD

This system of preferential voting is how we elect our politicians in Australia. Do you use it for your Congressional elections in America?

Regan

You Akira hating losers in the audience
