POLL: Patron Choice for March Audience Cut
Added 2024-02-23 16:23:52 +0000 UTCThe winner of this poll will get a FULL UNCUT reaction & Audience Cut episode. Neither Alex or Josh has seen any of these movies
UPDATE to the format of these polls. Each poll will have 8 movies. The top 4 runner-up movies will return for the next poll, and the bottom 3 will not. This will result in 4 returning movies and 4 new movies in every poll.
COMING SOON - we are working on a spreadsheet to list all movies we’ve been recommended and listing which ones each of us have seen. This will hopefully be done before the next poll.

2024-02-27 17:50:32 +0000 UTCIt's not an amazing film but there is something special about the Rocketeer. And it seems like the right time to watch it during s2 of TNG. The music is incredible in the Rocketeer it's so moving and cinematic.
Todd Pritchett
2024-02-27 06:39:59 +0000 UTCI would love to see your reaction to Sneakers.

2024-02-26 18:34:28 +0000 UTCHouse is incredible but I doubt any of your patrons have seen it so it will never win. Watch it on your own time guys. I swear to the every conceivable deity in the cosmos that ya'll have never seen anything like it, movie or otherwise

2024-02-26 15:28:33 +0000 UTCContact really needs to be on this list.
Brian Moore
2024-02-26 04:34:40 +0000 UTCeven if you prefer it you gotta admit that it's not currently the best version to watch first, it totally changes the end and cuts out about 30mins of the movie. The theatrical version is almost like a tv edit and shouldn't be the first time watch.
Todd Pritchett
2024-02-26 02:59:21 +0000 UTCAkira cannot be relegated folks.
MrDeadstu
2024-02-26 02:38:46 +0000 UTCI prefer the theatrical cut, but either one is a great movie.
Juan Tutrífor
2024-02-26 02:06:49 +0000 UTCI like the musical number, but I agree the Jar Jar Binks scene was unnecessary and, frankly, offensive.
Juan Tutrífor
2024-02-25 23:35:22 +0000 UTCDude, if the Rocketeer showed up in a Marvel movie, I'd actually watch a Marvel movie.
Juan Tutrífor
2024-02-25 23:33:37 +0000 UTCWow, I found myself torn between 4 of these! I almost went for House just because it's such a wack film. I didn't vote for Rocketeer, but still think it's worth a watch. And the original comic is pretty great, too!
Moonlander
2024-02-25 22:33:46 +0000 UTCI consider the Rocketeer the very first MCU movie, in tone and style.
JD Nevesytrof
2024-02-25 17:12:00 +0000 UTCI went Rocketeer over Abyss, but they're both great
Juan Tutrífor
2024-02-25 02:58:39 +0000 UTCAnd it makes a LOT more sense.
Monty Crawford
2024-02-24 17:47:55 +0000 UTCI dunno about it being sci fi, but a lot of totally unrealistic things happen....so fantasy maybe.
Monty Crawford
2024-02-24 17:47:11 +0000 UTCYeah, the theatrical cut removes too much of the final act of the film (no spoilers). I agree, the directors cut is the superior version to see first.
Knights Who Say Sledge
2024-02-24 16:39:57 +0000 UTCOoh, The Abyss, The Rocketed, ans Moon are all great choices.
Knights Who Say Sledge
2024-02-24 16:38:28 +0000 UTCCheapens it? Negative.
Monty Crawford
2024-02-24 01:08:33 +0000 UTCIt would be up to a vote

2024-02-23 23:12:00 +0000 UTCNo offense to God, but that would probably fall under fantasy, not science fiction.

2024-02-23 22:59:13 +0000 UTCIf the Abyss wins, please DON'T use the extended version. The extra footage cheapens the movie.
Nerd's Gold
2024-02-23 22:58:06 +0000 UTCNo strategic voting this time. Let every movie land on where it lands on its own merits
Andreas Schmitt
2024-02-23 21:17:55 +0000 UTCThe Abyss, Airplane 2 and Blues Brothers are musts for TA
Mike Rogers
2024-02-23 21:09:46 +0000 UTCWell, I thought I read it but clearly I didn't read it good enough! *facepalms* Cheers :)

2024-02-23 19:38:34 +0000 UTCHmm Still missing a western Unforgiven Tombstone True Grit

2024-02-23 19:37:18 +0000 UTCThe Rocketeer did lack that extra something to make it a hit. I wouldn't be as harsh as you about it though. I did find it refreshing compared to many blockbusters of that period, which became increasingly mechanical experiences as I watched them. It just didn't capitalise on its potential. Red Letter Media appreciate it as a rare example of old school movie-making from the 1990's.
Numinous2019
2024-02-23 19:31:52 +0000 UTCIf the abyss wins it really should be the directors cut and preferably the new 4k version (you can stream it.)
Todd Pritchett
2024-02-23 19:31:06 +0000 UTCPlease lets vote for something besides sci fi and horror.
Ken R
2024-02-23 19:14:09 +0000 UTCCmon guys, let's give Akira some love!
Michael Mannisto
2024-02-23 19:13:29 +0000 UTCThat's a tough pick. Some great flicks on there.
Steven Johnson
2024-02-23 19:01:31 +0000 UTCThat's just reality.
Steven Johnson
2024-02-23 19:01:13 +0000 UTCYou got some great choices here the only two I'm not interested in are Akira and The Rocketeer. I know a lot of people love Acura it's just not my ball of Wax I honestly think The Rocketeer is a badly made badly written badly produced badly acted movie
harrypothead42024
2024-02-23 18:09:04 +0000 UTCThe Blues Brothers is absolutely science fiction, they are on a mission from god.
harrypothead42024
2024-02-23 18:08:05 +0000 UTCThe only one of these I've seen is Airplane 2. And hey, Shatner!!!
KatWithAttitude
2024-02-23 18:05:35 +0000 UTCThe Blue Brothers. A stone cold classic. Would be nice to have something non sci fi.
Jon1701
2024-02-23 18:03:48 +0000 UTCRead the post in case you haven’t, but if you’re talking about the bottom 3 then yes they could, but it will go to the back of the line, so probably not for a while with the number of recommendations we have.
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-02-23 17:57:17 +0000 UTCWill those that don't win get chances again in the future? There's I was torn between, so went for the option I thought had a chance of winning lol
FPG
2024-02-23 17:51:17 +0000 UTCIf Blues Brothers does not win, I hope you watch it another month. That movie was my childhood (perhaps it should not have been)
Evan Guthrie
2024-02-23 17:48:52 +0000 UTCWould have voted for Akira, but voted strategically for the Blues Brothers.
John M.
2024-02-23 17:11:24 +0000 UTCThe Abyss, Moon, The Rocketeer.....everything else on that list is not worth a "Reaction". Blues Brothers? Really? Why? Have these guys ever seen TOP GUN? I mean if we're going basic-bitch here... LOL!! jk
StonyD
2024-02-23 17:01:52 +0000 UTCA lot of excellent choices here (and Airplane 2 lol). Wouldn't be upset about the vast majority of these winning I voted Blues Brothers just because I love it and it not another Sci-fi pick. Variety is the spice of life.
Ca$hWednesday
2024-02-23 16:58:59 +0000 UTCI’m a fan of Ed Harris’ work myself.
Chris S.
2024-02-23 16:53:57 +0000 UTCIf abyss wins, for the love af all that is holy, watch the rerelease director cut!
Miah1138
2024-02-23 16:52:40 +0000 UTCI went with The Abyss with the Blues Brothers close second. If The Abyss wins, please get the extended version...the ending makes a lot more sense.
Monty Crawford
2024-02-23 16:51:57 +0000 UTCI didn't expect my recommendation for Color Out of Space to make it! Can we get some love(craft) for Nic Cage?
Cameron Thacker
2024-02-23 16:50:50 +0000 UTCThese are all good choices, but The Rocketeer is a seriously underrated movie, and it's connection to ST:TNG Outrageous Okana should move it past its vote status IMHO.
Michael Schwarz
2024-02-23 16:50:06 +0000 UTCOoh, Akira's back. I dunno if you guys would like it, but it's a heck of an experience. I'd also vote for Color Out of Space if I could because holy $#!+ what an unsettling movie.
Nolan
2024-02-23 16:48:38 +0000 UTCI voted Moon because it's almost unknown, but The Abyss would be great too. Gotta do both at some point for sure. Both are wonderfully original and thought provoking.
David Scudder
2024-02-23 16:36:56 +0000 UTCAirplane 2 is an easy choice for me, although the creators of the original movie were not involved. It has quotable lines at least. I think I voted Blues Brothers last time. Moon (2009) looks like a good isolation film for Alex; my brother was a big fan of Solaris (2002) which looks similar.
Chtphr Rrr
2024-02-23 16:33:52 +0000 UTCThe Abyss is very underrated. It's a fantastic sci-fi film and some great acting!
Dale Gonyea
2024-02-23 16:33:02 +0000 UTCI hope Moon wins ... or Akira. I can't decide.
Phillip Grischa
2024-02-23 16:31:02 +0000 UTCAs much as I love The Rocketeer, I think Moon is the better option.
Nick Sauer
2024-02-23 16:28:48 +0000 UTCQuite a few good choices
Thicketdweller
2024-02-23 16:27:13 +0000 UTCI still think about Moon. A lot. It stays with you…
Mister Hope
2024-02-23 16:25:41 +0000 UTCIt's gotta be the Rocketeer... now that you've seen The Outrageous Okona.
