POLL: Patron Choice for March Audience Cut

The winner of this poll will get a FULL UNCUT reaction & Audience Cut episode. Neither Alex or Josh has seen any of these movies

UPDATE to the format of these polls. Each poll will have 8 movies. The top 4 runner-up movies will return for the next poll, and the bottom 3 will not. This will result in 4 returning movies and 4 new movies in every poll.

COMING SOON - we are working on a spreadsheet to list all movies we’ve been recommended and listing which ones each of us have seen. This will hopefully be done before the next poll.

Agree!

Gweneviere

It's not an amazing film but there is something special about the Rocketeer. And it seems like the right time to watch it during s2 of TNG. The music is incredible in the Rocketeer it's so moving and cinematic.

Todd Pritchett

I would love to see your reaction to Sneakers.

Gweneviere

House is incredible but I doubt any of your patrons have seen it so it will never win. Watch it on your own time guys. I swear to the every conceivable deity in the cosmos that ya'll have never seen anything like it, movie or otherwise

kevin coleman

Contact really needs to be on this list.

Brian Moore

even if you prefer it you gotta admit that it's not currently the best version to watch first, it totally changes the end and cuts out about 30mins of the movie. The theatrical version is almost like a tv edit and shouldn't be the first time watch.

Todd Pritchett

Akira cannot be relegated folks.

MrDeadstu

I prefer the theatrical cut, but either one is a great movie.

Juan Tutrífor

I like the musical number, but I agree the Jar Jar Binks scene was unnecessary and, frankly, offensive.

Juan Tutrífor

Dude, if the Rocketeer showed up in a Marvel movie, I'd actually watch a Marvel movie.

Juan Tutrífor

Wow, I found myself torn between 4 of these! I almost went for House just because it's such a wack film. I didn't vote for Rocketeer, but still think it's worth a watch. And the original comic is pretty great, too!

Moonlander

I consider the Rocketeer the very first MCU movie, in tone and style.

JD Nevesytrof

I went Rocketeer over Abyss, but they're both great

Juan Tutrífor

And it makes a LOT more sense.

Monty Crawford

I dunno about it being sci fi, but a lot of totally unrealistic things happen....so fantasy maybe.

Monty Crawford

Yeah, the theatrical cut removes too much of the final act of the film (no spoilers). I agree, the directors cut is the superior version to see first.

Knights Who Say Sledge

Ooh, The Abyss, The Rocketed, ans Moon are all great choices.

Knights Who Say Sledge

Cheapens it? Negative.

Monty Crawford

It would be up to a vote

Josh (Target Audience)

#justicefortombstone

Ca$hWednesday

No offense to God, but that would probably fall under fantasy, not science fiction.

startrekiborg

If the Abyss wins, please DON'T use the extended version. The extra footage cheapens the movie.

Nerd's Gold

No strategic voting this time. Let every movie land on where it lands on its own merits

Andreas Schmitt

The Abyss, Airplane 2 and Blues Brothers are musts for TA

Mike Rogers

Well, I thought I read it but clearly I didn't read it good enough! *facepalms* Cheers :)

FPG

Hmm Still missing a western Unforgiven Tombstone True Grit

Badger

The Rocketeer did lack that extra something to make it a hit. I wouldn't be as harsh as you about it though. I did find it refreshing compared to many blockbusters of that period, which became increasingly mechanical experiences as I watched them. It just didn't capitalise on its potential. Red Letter Media appreciate it as a rare example of old school movie-making from the 1990's.

Numinous2019

If the abyss wins it really should be the directors cut and preferably the new 4k version (you can stream it.)

Todd Pritchett

Please lets vote for something besides sci fi and horror.

Ken R

Cmon guys, let's give Akira some love!

Michael Mannisto

That's a tough pick. Some great flicks on there.

Steven Johnson

That's just reality.

Steven Johnson

You got some great choices here the only two I'm not interested in are Akira and The Rocketeer. I know a lot of people love Acura it's just not my ball of Wax I honestly think The Rocketeer is a badly made badly written badly produced badly acted movie

harrypothead42024

The Blues Brothers is absolutely science fiction, they are on a mission from god.

harrypothead42024

The only one of these I've seen is Airplane 2. And hey, Shatner!!!

KatWithAttitude

The Blue Brothers. A stone cold classic. Would be nice to have something non sci fi.

Jon1701

Read the post in case you haven’t, but if you’re talking about the bottom 3 then yes they could, but it will go to the back of the line, so probably not for a while with the number of recommendations we have.

Josh (Target Audience)

Will those that don't win get chances again in the future? There's I was torn between, so went for the option I thought had a chance of winning lol

FPG

If Blues Brothers does not win, I hope you watch it another month. That movie was my childhood (perhaps it should not have been)

Evan Guthrie

Would have voted for Akira, but voted strategically for the Blues Brothers.

John M.

The Abyss, Moon, The Rocketeer.....everything else on that list is not worth a "Reaction". Blues Brothers? Really? Why? Have these guys ever seen TOP GUN? I mean if we're going basic-bitch here... LOL!! jk

StonyD

A lot of excellent choices here (and Airplane 2 lol). Wouldn't be upset about the vast majority of these winning I voted Blues Brothers just because I love it and it not another Sci-fi pick. Variety is the spice of life.

Ca$hWednesday

I’m a fan of Ed Harris’ work myself.

Chris S.

If abyss wins, for the love af all that is holy, watch the rerelease director cut!

Miah1138

I went with The Abyss with the Blues Brothers close second. If The Abyss wins, please get the extended version...the ending makes a lot more sense.

Monty Crawford

I didn't expect my recommendation for Color Out of Space to make it! Can we get some love(craft) for Nic Cage?

Cameron Thacker

These are all good choices, but The Rocketeer is a seriously underrated movie, and it's connection to ST:TNG Outrageous Okana should move it past its vote status IMHO.

Michael Schwarz

Ooh, Akira's back. I dunno if you guys would like it, but it's a heck of an experience. I'd also vote for Color Out of Space if I could because holy $#!+ what an unsettling movie.

Nolan

I voted Moon because it's almost unknown, but The Abyss would be great too. Gotta do both at some point for sure. Both are wonderfully original and thought provoking.

David Scudder

Airplane 2 is an easy choice for me, although the creators of the original movie were not involved. It has quotable lines at least. I think I voted Blues Brothers last time. Moon (2009) looks like a good isolation film for Alex; my brother was a big fan of Solaris (2002) which looks similar.

Chtphr Rrr

The Abyss is very underrated. It's a fantastic sci-fi film and some great acting!

Dale Gonyea

I hope Moon wins ... or Akira. I can't decide.

Phillip Grischa

As much as I love The Rocketeer, I think Moon is the better option.

Nick Sauer

Quite a few good choices

Thicketdweller

I still think about Moon. A lot. It stays with you…

Mister Hope

It's gotta be the Rocketeer... now that you've seen The Outrageous Okona.
