I never thought of Nagilum as ugly or disturbing. He was king of his own domain, though. The buoy sequence is pretty creepy. The "Please, demonstrate how this is accomplished." "Not likely" exchange still amuses me all these years later.

Oh, right, the episode where the Enterprise gets trapped in a giant space laboratory run by the Geiko spokeslizard! Fun fact: the character is named "Nagillum" because it was originally intended to be played by Richard Mulligan.

Earl Boen was the voice and face of Nagilum. He played Dr. Silberman from the first two Terminator films, among other things.
