Great Fan Mail Items guys. Galactica 1980 is cool, the TNG Phaser Remote is unique. I got the TNG and Enterprise sets after my Uncle died and the Making of Star Trek I got 10 or so years ago when My uncle gave me his Comic, Magazine and Book collections. The Farscape Set is cool even though I never really cared for it or watched it much. Also those Comics and Artwork are Nice! 😀

Don't open that encyclopedia yet! I really liked Galactica 1980! I think I was 19 when it came out. never watched it since. But I remember enjoying it. DS9 is my fav of the Trek's, though like most nuTrek it takes a bit to find it' feet. Gosh, I have to stop saying nuTrek-- because NuTrek (TNG through Voyager) is now middle agedTrek! I have to say those comics look amazing!

What about Picard Season 3? Slightly better Tofu or real meat?

Another option are good hardware scalers. Pricy, but could be a significant step up from letting the TV or player upscale if they watch it on a large screen. (I don't have one YET, but soon.)
Oh, and Enterprise is on Blu-ray. But if you watch it on streaming the DVD are still good for the bonus features.

Josh figured it out what it was right away when he heard my name lol. I wanted to write more, but was limited to how much I could write. The day you guys released your reaction to the first Farscape episode made my day as it has been my favorite show and sci-fi for over 20 years. So I always had a deep appreciation in that you tried it out.. and may you be able to watch it someday with your busy schedule, whether if it’s on your channel or through your personal time. Anyway, thanks for all your content so far.. it’s been a great journey watching Trek for the first time with you two!

It is going to be a loooooong time before it is safe to open that encyclopedia. LOL.
I think it covers all the way up to the first few seasons of Voyager and the first couple of TNG movies.

The remaster of TNG cost $10 million and was actually actually easier and cheaper to do than DS9 and VOY would be. Now that we are in the age of streaming, with very few people still buying discs, the chances of those two shows being properly remastered are next to zero.

The Making of Star Trek was one of my favorite books ever. I loved going through all the details of that book. You don't have worry about spoilers when reading that. There was a similar series of books called The Best of Trek. I remember buying those too. This was back before Star Trek: The Next Generation. As I remember, The Best of Trek paperback books also talked about the movies, the animated series, the novels, etc. There was also Inside Star Trek: The Real Story from about 1996, after Gene Roddenberry died. It might be a book or video, but I remember it as a 3-hour long podcast on youtube. It was by Herbert Solow and Robert Justman who were there for the important decisions for the original series.

The last episode of Galactica 1980 is worth watching. I guess it is rated really highly compared to the other episodes of Galactica 1980. It looks like there are only 10 episodes, so I guess it is worth watching. If there had been many more episodes, I would say skip it. However, I don't know that I have seen most of the Galactica 1980 episodes, and I doubt many others remember them either. I bet you would be about the first reaction channel to view Galactica 1980, so you might get some views just for that.

I remember back in the 90's buying TNG on VHS tape. They were $20 per video cassette and only had two episodes each. The invention of DVDs freed up a lot of shelf space for Trekkers everywhere.

i remember when those box sets were $130 a season. they are now not so bad but back in the day that would have been $1000's in dvd's. you have great trek fans here. congrats on the goodies

Seriously, don’t watch Galactica 1980. There’s nothing in there worth seeing. Just go straight to the reboot. If you watch Galactica 1980, it might just discourage you from watching more and you should not let that happen.

If I have to compare Trek's to meat...and I think this is the right post to do so...then TOS is a Texan Sirloin Steak, TNG is a Filet Mignon from NYC, DS9 is a 24oz Porterhouse, Voyager is a Grilled Salmon, and Enterprise is fresh lobster. Anything after that is Tofu.

Yes they are doing everything by release date so they will start DS9 during season 6 of TNG

Yes we are going to watch by strict release order so there will be overlap

DS9 and Voyager are both only available in SD so those DVDs are as good as it gets unless something happens before you get to them

DS9 doesn't have a blu ray release. They never went back and remastered it which is a damned shame. Now that you have been so generously given DS9 by one of the other patrons I guess it is a decent time to ask if you will watch the last seasons of TNG concurrent to the first seasons of DS9? They aired simultaneously. I realize that you are probably about a year and a half away from that point.
