Definitely one of the best episodes. Btw you called the Borellian Nomens Kling On rip offs, but the Borellian Nomen were first. Trek TOS of course precedes BSG and has Kling Ons in it, but not the "Borellian Nomen" Kling Ons, which are "Worf" Kling Ons. So the whole "We are warriors, have a code of honor, tough guys" Kling Ons first appeared in Star Trek 3, which means they ripped off the concept of BSG's Borellian Nomens. And it's so blatant, quite frankly. But everything ripps off from BSG, don't get me started with Quantum Leap

Don't forget there were the Borays and there were a few different alien creatures amongst the casino patrons on Carrillon.

Did the monkey kill them?

This is the point where the ensemble cast starts getting gradually pared down, presumably for budget reasons. War of the Gods was the high point in terms of the number of recurring characters.

I love how our group of pilots are Shuttle Drivers, Security, Special Forces, Detectives, oh and fighter pilots. I worry that the fleet relies on about 5 people for all these roles.

I love that they brought in the Borellian Nomen as a warrior clan who follow certain codes. I didn't like that they referred to themselves as Human "Are we not Human like yourselves?" Obviously as even humans had lived on numerous planets that these guys developed differently but they appear more alien than ancient humans etc. Will we see them again? We'll have to keep watching to find out. Incidentally the actor who played the leader Maga was in the previous episode where Apollo got into the draw with the Cylon in the tavern. His voice is unmistakable but he made it deeper for the role of Maga. So far the number of non-human true aliens have been quite limited from the 4 eyed, 2 mouthed duel male/female voiced women, the insect like creatures of Caralon, the Cylon imperious leader and the more recent Count Iblis all planet inhabitants even though not a part officially of the 12 colonies have all been human as well. This time those dancing no longer had the ropes to dance with but rather put each other's palms together extending their arms outward side to side. From what I remember we won't see the ropes return in any future episodes.

This episode was written specifically for Fred Astaire, who played Chameleon. He was a mega-famous dancer/actor who played opposite Ginger Rogers in a series of musical comedies back in the Thirties. Astaire asked if he could have a small part in Galactica because his grandchildren loved the show, and they turned around and wrote a whole episode for him. His brief dance with Anne Jeffreys (Siress Blassie) turned out to be the last time he danced with a woman on screen.
