Come to think of it, Boomer’s skill with electronics does get one more mention later in the series. And there’s an old memo floating around the interwebs that contains Glen Larson’s proposals for a real Season 2 (not Galactica 1980), in which Boomer would have become THE electronics expert, replacing Dr. Wilker, the scientist who built Muffit.

You can see with the new opening we no longer have the blue and red mystical opening with the lines, "there are those who believe...." It was meant to cut down on the length of the opening but now they have the spoiler preview of each episode which keeps it exactly the same length. If not for time maybe cutting that part out saves on having to pay the actor who spoke those lines for the remainder of the series to cut costs. Incidentally Sheba will be a constant member of Blue Squadron for the rest of the series and in addition to Jolly we also had Ensign Green Bean too with Battlestar.

We could definitely see the wires back in 1978. But, willing suspension of disbelief and all that. This is a good B-team episode to showcase Boomer and Athena, and certainly Muffit's biggest role as well. Tony Swartz's character is indeed named Jolly... you might say, the Porkins of Battlestar Galactica.

Viper is to Battlestar as X-Wing is to Star Wars.

Muffy, short for Muffit. Kid logic. Muffit is already a replacement for his original daggit, who was also called Muffit. But building a new robot daggit is not the same because it won’t be Muffit. Kid logic. 😁
