POLL: Patreon Exclusive Reaction Series

We have run through all your suggestions, and narrowed them down to the most popular amongst the comments, as well as those that are easily available to us in some way.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND these will be full uncut reactions with timecodes. Meaning you must also have access to the material to sync up and watch. We will explain below how we will be watching each option, in case that helps you find the material.

If no option gets over 50% of this vote, we will eliminate the least popular option and run the poll again.

Lastly, if NONE of these options are something you feel you would be interested in or able to watch along with us, please comment and let us know that instead of voting.

Here are the options:

1. Twin Peaks the series (1990). We will be watching this on SHOWTIME.

2. Battlestar Galactica the original series (1978). We will be PURCHASING this online as we have not found it free to stream without ads. It is available for purchase through Amazon and YouTube. We would most likely follow this up with the proceeding movies & series, but the original 1978 series will be what is definitely exclusive to Patreon.

3. Westworld. We will start with the 1973 film, which we would have to PURCHASE online. Then the sequel Futureworld (1976) we will watch on PARAMOUNT+. We would then watch the 2016 series on HBO. This would all be exclusive to Patreon.

(Spoiler) Actually, there is a, "By your command," in the miniseries. (Last line of dialogue.) (End Spoiler)

Brad you made some good points about the Cylon's from 1978 & 2004. I agree with you that they should have done a "By your command" as a nod to the the 1978 version.

I love and own both orignal BSG and the remake but you can tell he wasn't a big fan of the original Cylon models especially since not one metal Cylon Centurion in the remake ever spoke once. I loved the way they sounded in the classic BSG it would've been nice to at least get one, "by your command" from them but updated so not so mechanical sounding.

BSG 1978 is good (well most of it anyway) classic 70s sci-fi TV. I understand you guys said if you liked it you will continue with the series, however, please skip Galactica 1980 and go straight to the early 2000s mini-series and following series. Galactica 1980 was slapped together due to fans wanting more but is so poorly done from stupid storylines, bad acting, switching actors multiple times specifically Doctor Z and except for a guest star appearance of 2 of the orignal characters only Lorne Greene who played Commander Adama was hired back. So remember 1978 BSG GOOD, Galactica 1980 BAD 👎

Interesting fact also is that Ronald D Moore who created and wrote the 2004 version of BSG was also a producer on Star Trek TNG and on Star Trek DS9. Since this is a Star Trek centric channel right now the connection he has between the two series I thought would be of interest.

Wow Very interesting to start with 1978 BSG if that wins. 2004 version is so different (and better) than 1978. Also at the time there was a lot of controversy for some of the changes they made in the 2004 version with characters BUT I think most people now see it as a positive looking back. Will be very interesting to go along for this ride if that's the road chosen.

No worries!

That was a hard decision - Westworld was really good back in the day, Twin Peaks is a classic but in the end I chose BG because of Lorne Green, the music, and the positive message. Also, it just occurred to me that Firefly and BG have a similar vibe - anyone else see that? It should be interesting to see them concurrently.

Sorry, i didn’t expect you guys had researched and laid it out so clearly on what you were doing. I’ll double check your full post in the future.

BURKE Wells

Like we said in the post, if BSG wins the poll, we would most likely continue on through the series

Josh (Target Audience)

1970s BSG is so-so. Go with the remake is my advice.

Ken R

If you read the post I believe we were pretty clear about what we would be watching.

Josh (Target Audience)

Let’s be clear here, all of these shows are practically franchises. Westworld has 2 ‘70s movies and the 2016 reboot tv series. Battlestar has ‘78 tv series plus Galactica’80 then 2003 mini-series reboot which goes straight into 2004/5 tv series plus TV movie specials. Twin Peaks has ‘90’s series plus ‘92 and 2014 movies plus 2017 continuation tv series.

BURKE Wells

2003 mini-series first before actual series. You’ll be lost without mini-series.

BURKE Wells

I recommend definitely doing 1978 Battlestar Galactica but then follow it up with 2005 BG. Compare and contrast.

Collin Freeman

I rewatched Westworld, which I hadn't seen since I was a kid, and was surprised at how well it held up.
