To answer rob’s JJ Abram’s question: his production company bad robot got involved with MI3, which essentially was the series’ soft reboot after the studio didn’t know what to do with it. That’s why from 3 onward all the movies have a way different tone than the first two. He played a big part in getting things rolling into a more serialized direction and stayed involved until the final two movies, which were joint efforts between Tom and a director introduced to the series as a writer in the next one. Also agreed Simon Pegg was MUCH needed as an addition, he brought so much more life to the whole series going forward
