wow guys ... although I already knew the ending, I never watched this season again until now and it's still heartbreaking. Deb is definitely the best character of the show :(

2025-05-06 17:55:59 +0000 UTCI think what made this ending so hard and unsatisfying was the fact we didn't have any knowledge of New Blood coming. We were left with this. For 9 freaking years! It's MUCH easier to take knowing that New Blood is lined up next for you. Glad you didn't have to suffer like us. Be interested to hear your thoughts on New Blood...

2025-05-02 18:09:45 +0000 UTCI'm not that mad they killed Deb. Story telling wise, as sad as it is, Dexter's way of life will always affect the people around him who he loves and cares about. That's just how it's going to be. I AM upset by the way they executed it. I think that's my main issue with this season & what was my main issue with this ending. It was unsatisfying. I don't need a finale to be super crazy or explosive, but I was left unsatisfied by this original ending. I DO like New Blood tho. I'm one of the few ppl who genuinely enjoyed it (& was okay with how they again decided to "end" it there however now we have the new Dexter series coming up lol) I'm very eager to see your guys' thoughts on New Blood (& then Original Sin which i also LOVED. 1 of my favorite seasons of the whole franchise honestly). This has been an amazing journey with you guys. <3

2025-04-29 22:49:05 +0000 UTCThis ending didn't go over well. I'm not against main characters dying. Lost (and others) can't be your favorite show without reconciling that it can have purpose. But as far as I'm concerned, there's no universe where Deb should die and Hannah gets Harrison.... that is just the wrong writing choice for closure. I'm a sucker for full circle endings (see Lost). So I don't care if it's cliche, but my personal ending would've been... Dexter seemingly dies, Deb raises Harrison, after a few years he exhibits similar inclinations as Dexter did, Deb continues to follow (but improve) in her father's footsteps and begins teaching him a code (more emphathetically as a fail safe).
