I feel like Matthew knows it’s Dexter. The way he was talking with him it’s like he knew but he’s trying to get Maria off of it because he agrees with killing the people that Dexter is killing. Hannah 🤮🤮 I don’t even know what to say about her here like how is he wrong to at least question her about it given her past, also she said she never made a mistake seconds after saying that Sal price was supposed to die behind the wheel. I would’ve put her on the table she knows WAY to much to be left alive. Maria setting up that thing basically confirms without a doubt that the bay harbor butcher is alive since he didn’t have time to take down the kill room also leaving a chainsaw (the same thing his mom was killed with)

This is why I don't date serial killers...

I hear you, and it makes sense to a certain point! Someone else also pointed out it could’ve been a gift for Deb to arrest her. Spoilers for 7x12 below: Still, I believe that, if the writers wanted him to kill Hannah, they’d have found a way for him to do just that, just like they did LaGuerta, a character whose death would’ve been insanely suspicious but the right conditions just conveniently fell on his lap. Again, love me some Hannah, I’m just a little iffy on this one.

He couldn't kill Hannah. He's under suspicion already and was just set up with that guy that got out of prison. Yeah, I guess he could have switched it up for Hannah so it didn't look suspicious. But I believe that he also said he doesn't have to kill anymore with the Dark Passenger like he used to. So, maybe it'll still happen if Hannah gets out (I don't remember what happens). But for now this was the right way to do it.

Personally, I always thought that Dexter didn’t kill Hannah was because he wanted to give Debra the satisfaction of arresting Hannah herself. Deb made such a big thing of not wanting Dexter to take cases away from the police. I think this was his way of making amends to Debra by giving her the credit for Hannah’s arrest. Having said that, I also think he would have found it very difficult to kill Hannah himself. He really is in love with her.

This is my biggest problem... huge... with the writing of the Hannah storyline. Why I feel it went totally Out of Character. To the point that it makes zero sense to me unless it's fanfiction. Dexter killed his own bio brother to protect Deb. You could tell how difficult that was for him, how much a blood brother could mean to him...but he followed through. When Dexter thought Deb might die along with Lundy? He was losing it and ready to kill whoever did it. Then this? Sorry, nope. For me... the core rule of this show, for Dexter, should always be... Deb (and Harrison) comes first. This is not it.

Hannah did a little oopsie but we all make mistakes. ❤️

I love how unsure you guys were! I think this episode shows great storytelling, aside from one thing. Now, I say this as a Hannah fan. The writers dropped the ball on this one. Not with her poisoning Debra, I love that they wrote that because she WOULD do that. What I don’t like, and it’s the only piece of this storyline that I don’t like, is how Dexter got her arrested. I know he loves her, I do. But he killed his brother for trying to kill Deb. Throughout the whole series, it’s been all about protecting Debra and putting Debra first. You’re telling me he wouldn’t kill Hannah? To me, that’s just favouritism from the writers and, as much as I adore Hannah, it was the wrong call. It would’ve been better drama and more logical for Hannah to end up on his table. It’s a shame, really.
