And it gives the Neil character a personality, a story, importance... It is so good..if you don't get that the series is self aware and self critical of stereotypes.... I mean... The flag says..... unus pluribus anus... It is not a societal dissertation on the essence of human beings, but obviously an extreme parody of the human being. I think that was established with the attempt of creating a super aware school mascot.... That ultimately is terrifying.

2025-02-22 04:18:11 +0000 UTCThe controversy over the D&D episode was/is so absurd. He's a dark elf... looks dark navy to me... plus the pointy ears and silver wig. Part of the joke is how into D&D Chang is... and how entirely clueless he is that it could be taken in any other way. Shirley calls it out, but is clueless to D&D culture. There's a point on both sides. Because Chang is an idiot. To pull this episode was such an over reaction... by people who obviously didn't bother to watch it. I mean, Pierce is a walking, talking purposeful offense to all... and everyone understands that depiction without censoring it.
