Yes Dexter is certainly not boring to watch lol and to be fair, i feel the same way with a lot of the characters which makes this show addictive. I suppose if there is enough screen time for everybody, their qualities will be explored more. But, we are only privy to Dex's inner thoughts.

Dexter has this very mild seeming, quirky persona that comes across as likable, amusing, and oddly relatable. I enjoy watching, but I never consider him a hero. He's veered too far from his guidelines. And I get frustrated by his increasing undermining and misdirecting of investigations. It always spirals and causes more harm than if he would just help his team nab the killer. Like: I love how he saved Deb and everyone from the poison gas.... great moment... BUT they wouldn't have needed saving if he hadn't detered things and kept Travis out of reach.

Like Doakes, Quinn was so close. He hired Liddy to investigate Dexter and if I remember correctly, Liddy took pictures of Dex and Lumen with the body bags in the marina. Quinn also suspected Dex to be Kyle Butler. And Quinn suspected Dex of killing Liddy. Until he seemed to have dropped everything for Debra..

Once again, Dexter is all 'I shouldn't have deviated from the code' because it causes more problems, more innocent deaths, more close calls. Well, no shit. It's only happened multiple times before. Each time he acts like he's learned from Miguel, and Trinity... now Travis... but then makes the same mistakes again. When we first met Dexter, he took out confirmed perpetrators who had fallen thru the cracks in the system. But then he became increasingly fixated on taking out current case baddies. By subverting the police.... who could've apprehended the killers sooner, sparing lives. He's become the cracks in the system. Because Dex wants to do it himself, no matter the unintentional collateral damage. Because it always spirals. Dexter is sloppier and sloppier... and increasingly coloring outside the lines. (It's actually ridiculous that he's not been discovered. Airport cameras?!) Louis is a prime example. Louis needs a comeuppance. But he's a far cry from qualifying for murder at Dexter's hands. Glad that Deb got in Dex's head enough to give him pause. But that he was gonna do it at all... shows how far he's slipped.

When Deb draws Dexter out onto the pier to talk, MCH looks so red headed. Between filming season 6 and 7 MCH was in a movie where he played a jewish guy and they died his hair black. Must have been really hard for the hair stylist to figure that out.

I'd say avoiding detection is more survival than code, but I see what you mean. There were however at least a few times where the police could've apprehended the killer, after which Dex could've retroactively exacted his own justice if a conviction fell through. Instead, it seems like he goes after his victims more for his own personal reason - his "addiction" - than purely for the sake of justice.

😂

Kamanda Hickey

That is the most frustrating part of the Dexter's code.

Kamanda Hickey

I love Trin's idea of Dexter in jail killing people 😂

Dexter often sabotages police investigations because his "code" is not just about killing those who escape justice, but also about ensuring that his own actions remain undetected; by manipulating evidence or throwing investigations off track, he protects himself from suspicion while still enacting his twisted form of justice on criminals the system has failed to convict.

Next week we get "Run"! Probably one of my top 3 Dexter episodes of all time. So gd good.

Michael Harn

On the next episode of My Strange Addiction... Seriously though, I know Dexter's code is to kill those that fall through the cracks of the justice system...but come on Dex, we've all seen you sabotage investigations to get to a killer first...

I respect the hell out of Deb for what she’s trying to do. Harry is his dark passenger there is no way in hell he was a good influence he’s starting to sound like the devil on dexters shoulder. THIS SEASON IS PEAK!!! Trin is right I feel like everyone’s acting is on point

James

Isaak!! i love his character so much. im so glad they introduced him as a character this season. and i never noticed before how the truck that hits Randall says "sun 'n go" lmaoooo... he took in some last sunshine and he uh, he go. he went bye bye.

This season has SUCH a way of subtly setting things up and foreshadowing. This episode is a prime example of that. No spoilers, of course. I cannot wait for the next ones! ✨💐
