Any way to change the quality on the sync.com videos?

The writing starts going downhill from here folks. But...it's still a REALLY fun show to watch!

Lol... Same to you. People romanticize Dexter way too much. He's not a hero. And every time he'd come to the conclusion that his family was his priority... He would then repeatedly focus on his own needs and not make them a priority. Please tell all the collateral dead people they were better off for having him in their lives.

Dexter wasn’t being selfish when he was preparing to leave and said “the kids will be fine with Deb” he did and said all that because he took what Astor said literally. Rita’s death hit him so hard and Astor’s words that he truly believed they would be better in life if he wasn’t around. He isn’t a normal thinking person which so many people forget. It’s not like he’s leaving cuz he just wants to avoid his kids and start over like that Zoey cop, he was gonna leave truly because in his lacking feelings-oriented brain, he is protecting everyone close to him by leaving

He's the same guy who stole thousands of dollars from a crime scene and then tried to bribe a fellow police department employee into keeping quiet about it. Oh and on top of that, he constantly fed private police-only information to a reporter LONG after he was warned not to by his direct superior. Quinn is a scumbag so he gets no benefit of the doubt with how he was acting about Dexter this season. Especially after the FBI exonerated Dexter from having any involvement in Rita's death, he kept going on. It was solely because he still held a grudge against Dexter for not taking his bribes and for shoving him out of his way when Quinn was rudely questioning Dexter's loyalty to his wife.

You couldn't be more wrong, but that's okay. You're still allowed to have an opinion even if its a bad one!

dude seeing rita dead like that after they showed us how trinity kills at the beginning of last season is so awful😔i almost wish we never got the trinity killing in the bathtub scene bc thinking abt rita going through that haunts me, and being on 2nd watch seeing that scene again with you guys i had forgot abt it so on rewatch seeing trinitys face knowing what happens with rita and then seeing that scene was🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I grieve like Dexter does. Something just shuts off in my brain. I have my moments of course but then I can shut it down quickly. This episode always gets me because I can understand what he’s going through. I also wonder if people look at me the way they look at Dexter. Heartless with no compassion. Outside I may be fine but inside it feels like my soul is being ripped apart. 😢 Edit; fyi, I’m not a serial killer 😂

I honestly don't think Quinn is doing anything wrong here, he's doing his job, albeit maybe without compassion. He's right when he says 'if this was anyone else but Dexter we'd be thinking like detectives' I do think this show makes you feel to strongly about Dexter, we love him because he's great, funny and entertaining. But he is undoubtedly a monster and he is dangerous, it's so fascinating how we all continue to defend a serial killer 🤣 that's what makes the show so interesting to me and shows what a fantastic job Michael C Hall does!

Michael Harrop

Dexters breakdown always gets me. Trying so hard to show what he's feeling rather than kept on the inside.

Jeff1990

Dexter didn't really have any problem showing genuine emotions when Deb was shot last season. He was distraught and angry. That was the most human he's been. But then... Deb has always been the anchor for Dexter, not Rita. Here he's just a selfish zombie until guilt & ego overload into murdering a guy. Then to justify it, his own inner voice disguised as Harry tells him he was being human. Yeah, no. Love Dex, but I don't think any of them are better off having him in their lives. It wouldn't be as watchable though.

well said! Season 5 is one of my favorites!

Janet

It's easy to get mad at Quinn but tbh he's only thinking like any cop should and he wasn't rude about it really it suggested it was weird rather than suspicious or anything. Most people don't like Quinn I feel but personally I kinda do.

I love Dexter but damn it was hard to watch how bad he handled this whole Rita situation (I know it’s not entirely his fault) seeing him kill an innocent person like that was terrifying. seeing him come undone like that was intense you forget he’s a serial killer sometimes then you see him bashing in someone’s brain

ahhh this episode is so sad. i'm glad they didn't time jump in it and gave us the direct aftermath, esp for a person like Dexter who has trouble processing his emotions, it's good to see him actually figure out how to mourn, especially when he feels guilty (and as much as you might want to be like Deb and go "it's not Dexter's fault, it's Trinity's" fact is, Dexter played murder games and won murder prizes). I do genuinely love this season, tho i get why a lot of ppl have a difficult time with it, but it's really one of my favorite seasons. edit: also i love the scene of dexter killing the guy and finally feeling all the feelings. it can be rough to watch, esp if you're someone who has put all your eggs into the "dexter only kills bad guys" basket, but, at the end of the day, dexter is a murderer. he's violent. his anger (which is a normal feeling in a situation like this) and mourning isn't going to manifest like a normal person's would. it's not rare that a person in mourning seeks out a fight, but Dexter's violent tendencies go further than just punching and he let himself go and let all of his supposed "morals" go in that instant to feel his anger and let out his frustrations, because he can't release it on who he really wants to release it on (Trinity........ himself....). I love that scene.
