A lot of changes from the book here, mostly having to deal with the Agatha King and its Protomolecule infection..Namely that Holden is actually the one who goes onto the ship after capturing Mao..I like the change of spreading the heroics around to Alex and Naomi.. Also, end of Book 2..

2024-10-30 06:52:37 +0000 UTCMao gave the hybrid firing solution to Admiral Nyguen (sp?) after he relayed that he unfroze all of Mao's family funds. So, Nyguen is the one who fired the hybrids, not the people on Io (Mao/Strickland). That's just where the hybrids were fired from, but Nyguen is the one who did it. This is what Nyguen pulled up on his screen right before. The hybrids were his secret weapon that he was probably going to use against the Martians, but instead he fired them on everyone that wasn't following his orders. He'd gone completely rogue. Seems he never dealt with the PTSD from being a survivor of that battle with the Martians and he couldn't let go of demonizing them. This is what you felt you missed, but it was shown, you just had to connect the dots.

And I love how there is that 39-minute delay between the battle in the Jovian system and UNN Command on Earth. The politicians are essentially a whole episode behind the action...

"but Amos is...." everyone knows exactly what's about to happen except strickland's dumb ass. If you hurt kids and Amos finds out about it you are seriously fucked! The fact that he was able to do it so Prax (his best friend) didn't have to is just a honus. And the look on Amos' face when Prax calls him his "best friend in the whole world" **brilliant** and then everyone else is running around doing stuff trying to finish off the protomolecule ...where is amos? Taking care of the kids. I don't even care about the potty mouth around the kids. Best babysitter ever.

2024-10-30 02:46:08 +0000 UTC*I AM THAT GUY!* π₯ One of the authors of the books as well as a writer and producer of the show, Ty Franck, and the actor that plays Amos, Wes Chatham, have a podcast you can listen to or watch on YouTube called βTy and That Guy.β Highly recommended and now the title is not a spoiler. They have some of the other actors, writers, etc, as guests and they talk about other movies etc. A fun listen.
