He has always shown that he knows exactly how others would react to the truth. But I also think that being so self aware is what keeps him more steps ahead than other serial killers. But, when it comes down to it... he's a bit of a narcissist... his needs will always come first.

2024-10-15 16:17:59 +0000 UTCMichael C. Hall makes Dexter so likable, so rootable... that it's easy to see merit in all his doings. Here he says... that he realizes that he would rather risk Rita & the kids finding out the truth about him, than lose them. Yet if they found out, he would lose them. More than that, it would ruin them. So pretty selfish really. But this is where Dexter's main character pov makes it easy to ignore all of that and just enjoy.

2024-10-15 03:16:40 +0000 UTCOne of my absolutely favorite episodes of Dexter in the whole series. For Dexter to realize that he loves Rita and the kids was a momentous moment. Such great acting. Amazing!! And the cliffhanger?!! Totally awesome!
