I feel like this showed us just how strong Xavier is. Power yes, we already knew how incredibly powerful he was from the original trilogy, X-Men, X2, Last Stand. He was always the benevolent teacher. Only Stryker's neural inhibitor kept Xavier out of Stryker's head, and even then he could only be forced to do anything by Jason. We had no clue how painful his ability was, or I certainly didn't. Logically it makes sense that such power would be painful, but what he says here about being able to bear pain without breaking.... wow. He experiences constant mental pain, and accepts it as a gift.

2024-09-25 08:15:17 +0000 UTCIn my opinion this and Logan are the best x-men movies, I'm a big fan of time travel and they really use the cast to the fullest. The X-men in the MCU were confirmed for the first time in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness when professor X appeared. X-men are in another universe compared to the other heroes(Ironman, Thor, etc), that's the main way they integrate things from other movies/shoes into the MCU, they put the events in a different universe compared to the main one. Also, again, after ECHO, there is the new X-men animated series, I recommend watching the one from the 90's first, everything will make way more sense since the new one is a continuation of the old one and you will get to know the X-men better more than they were ever presented in the movies and there are some really good stories from the commics in the old series(including days of future past and other time travel ones). If in doubt do a poll, you are almost caught up to present day Marvel anyway. PS, I'm not trying to be pushy, I just want to help you get the full story, so sorry if i got that effect :)

Meaning that the 'ah' moment is seeing him in WandaVision... after having seen him play Quicksilver in X-Men movies. Because it's not about the guy who was in WV appearing in X-Men... it was about the guy in X-Men being a wink-wink in WandaVision. Not their fault at all... but watching out of order means you just don't get those nods as they were meant. This one just isn't a big deal. I never said anything, but I understand why some did... as context can matter if you otherwise have no clue. And if no one had ever said anything... I doubt Rob would've ever made the connection here. He forgets a lot. Trin would've though.

Nothing in this version changes anything, it doesn’t make it more complicated. Either you just hate Rogue or you don’t like long movies. I've seen some argue that because of chronology Dark Phoenix should be injected between them, but I strongly disagree on that one. I really didn't care for Dark Phoenix for multiple reasons, and I'll be skipping that reaction if they do it. But aside from that, I think it caused just as many if not even more inconsistencies than X-Men Origins: Wolverine did. At least when taking Logan into account. Again, just my opinion though.

Again, as they have said multiple times, that works BOTH ways, and people could have understood that and had the 'wow, that's him!" surprise from Rob and Trin in this, now it was: "Oh right, it's that thing people spoiled for us... We're SO surprised." I'm just confused as to how you don't get this...

No plot points or twists were spoiled.

This was the 1st time i watched this version but i very much prefer normal version. Normal version is shorter but it keeps its tempo. The section with Rogue was so strange and it didnt fit in what so ever. Thats my take but i will happilly choose normal version over Rogue cut

And since they hadn't yet seen this movie when they watched Wandavision, the Evan Peters casting didn't mean anything to them at the time anyway.

That’s followed by Apocalypse, Logan 2017, and Deadpool 2 which also has an extended edition. So with all that said, onto the fun facts about this film. Bishop, Blink, Sunspot, and Warpath aren’t official members of the X-Men. They’re actually a group of displaced mutants who don’t have a lot of hope for the future, but they decided to turn to the X-Men in a final attempt to save the world. The way time travel works is almost akin to other depictions such as Terminator and Back To The Future. It’s worth remembering that this was before Endgame when they depicted a form of time travel close as to how it would actually work if it existed. By the way, the quote that future Charles tells his younger self is the same thing his variant from dimension 838 says to Doctor Strange. We should also remember that Rogue took the vaccine that supposedly got rid of the mutant gene. It worked for a while, but Magneto was shot up with four doses of the stuff and he still got his powers back at the end of The Last Stand. He was able to move a chess piece without having to touch it because it was embedded with metal. Magneto is a class four mutant, and he was too powerful for the effects of the vaccine. They never confirmed what Rogue’s class level was, but given how they both got their powers back I assume she also has to be level four. The Rogue Cut gives about 17 minutes of additional content. Some of the previously cut footage included the following: 1.) John Proudstar/Warpath reciting a prayer for mutants and human allies who had their lives taken by the sentinels 2.) Bishop having more lines and expressing his concern over the consequences of creating a new timeline 3.) Logan meeting Peter’s younger sister *Before I continue, I wanna acknowledge two things. First, at the time this movie was made, Disney and Fox were still in the middle of their whole dispute over which characters they could legally use and how. As a result, we have two live-action incarnations of Quicksilver. We have Pietro in the MCU, but this version was named Peter. Second, it’s presumed that the other sister that her mom mentions was Wanda. However, one other possibility is that the other sister might have been another character named Lorna Dane. She’s had several codenames in the comics, but her most common one is Polaris. Some incarnations of her are written as one of Magneto’s children along with Wanda and Pietro. Much like her father, Lorna also has the power of magnetism. 4.) Nixon dropping an F-bomb 5.) Bobby suggesting that Rogue can take over for Kitty/Shadowcat 6.) Hank asking Logan about the future and answering the door to Raven 7.) Bobby rescuing Rogue with help from Magneto and sacrificing himself after entrusting him with getting her to safety 8.) Raven destroying Cerebro 9) Rogue taking Shadowcat’s place and Logan sensing her presence the next morning 10.) A sentinel arm shown as a tracking beacon for the carriers 11.) Young Charles meets a US Army veteran who tells him he was in a wheelchair after encountering a Bouncing Betty which is another term for S-Mine 12.) The post-credit scene with Trask in Magneto’s former concrete cell And finally, I have some somber news about one of the cast members of this movie. Adan Canto, the actor who portrayed Sunspot, has passed away a few months ago. His cause of death was appendix cancer. Following his appearance in this movie, Adan would appear on the Netflix series Narcos and the Fox series The Cleaning Lady. He also worked with Halle Berry a second time in her 2019 Netflix movie Bruised. Adan was 42 at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife and their two children.
