2024-08-27 08:09:48 +0000 UTCThis is just me... but, personally, I find Rita & kids the least interesting part of the show. I'd rather Dex not ditch his sister... who he promised to meet... to go be with Rita. Deb is 1000x more enjoyable to watch. Like last season... Dexter wanted to spend his 'last' meal with Deb, while imagining confessing to her. That family dynamic is way more compelling to me. I love Dex, and support him taking out Miami's trash... but I guess part of it is also that I feel bad for Rita. Dexter cares for her & the kids, wants them to be happy.... but the relationship is entirely built on massive lies. She's a 'normal' life for Dexter... but he's taken her real choices from her. Because Rita would be horrified if she knew the truth. She would not choose a life with him. While it adds another facet for Dexter to juggle... it also makes me sad for Rita, even if she's happy. Because life with Dexter is a house of cards.
