The 3rd one is co written by Craven, and New Nightmare is both written and directed by Craven (avoid ANY information about it until you watch). The 3rd is pretty good, and New Nightmare is personally my favourite of the franchise, it’s the mindfuck of all mindfucks The rest is either meh or sooooo bad. Freddy vs Jason is perfect *so bad it’s good* , so it could be a very fun reaction :p That said, I’d still suggest you watch the whole franchise, because there’s some interesting lore to come. But at least watch the 3rd + New Nightmare
